Together, these results indicate that alpha-actinin (show ACTN1 ELISA Kits) and the actin cytoskeleton are important components of the cisternal organelle that are probably required to stabilize the AIS (show AR ELISA Kits).
Results suggest that ACTN4 is essential for maintaining normal spreading, motility, cellular and nuclear cross-sectional area, and contractility of lung fibroblasts by maintaining the balance between transcellular contractility and cell-adhesion.
newly developed mouse model of ACTN4-associated FSGS suggests a cause-and-effect relationship between actin cytoskeleton dysregulation by mutant alpha-actinin-4 and the deterioration of the nephrin (show NPHS1 ELISA Kits)-supported slit diaphragm complex.
nonsarcomeric alpha-actinin-4 is involved in the regulation of cell movement
This study identified alpha-actinin-4 as a novel NHERF1 (show SLC9A3R1 ELISA Kits) interaction partner and provided new insights into the regulatory mechanism of the actin cytoskeleton by NHERF1 (show SLC9A3R1 ELISA Kits).
Selective regulation of NF-kappaB (show NFKB1 ELISA Kits) gene targets may indicate involvement of ACTN4 in determining the specificity of cell response to NF-kappaB (show NFKB1 ELISA Kits) activation in cells of different types. (Review)
ZYX (show ZYX ELISA Kits) defective binding to ACTN4, which occupies focal adhesions instead of ACTN1 (show ACTN1 ELISA Kits), induces the formation of immature focal adhesions, resulting in the enhancement of cell motility and invasion.
The contribution of ACTN4 to the process of lung cancer metastasis to the brain could be mainly through regulation of actin cytoskeleton reorganization, cell motility, and focal adhesion.
SLK (show FYN ELISA Kits) interacts with Tpr and alpha-actinin-4 in cells, and these protein-protein interactions may control the subcellular localization and the biological activity of SLK (show FYN ELISA Kits).
key regulator of endothelial cell stiffness and of ICAM-1 (show ICAM1 ELISA Kits)-mediated neutrophil transmigration
Knockdown of ACTN4 protein inhibited cell invasion and migration. These results suggest that ACTN4 is associated with lung cancer cell motility.
alpha-actinin-4 is a novel group 1 mGluR (show GRM8 ELISA Kits)-interacting partner that orchestrates spine dynamics and morphogenesis in neurons.
Using fluorescence recovery after photobleaching, we show that an ACTN4 mutation that causes human kidney disease roughly triples the wild-type binding affinity of ACTN4 to F-actin in cells, increasing the dissociation time from 29 +/- 13 to 86 +/- 29 s.
Estrogen promotes the invasion of ovarian cancer cells via activation of the PI3K (show PIK3CA ELISA Kits)/AKT (show AKT1 ELISA Kits) pathway, downregulation of Ecadherin and upregulation of alphaactinin4.
Alpha actinins belong to the spectrin gene superfamily which represents a diverse group of cytoskeletal proteins, including the alpha and beta spectrins and dystrophins. Alpha actinin is an actin-binding protein with multiple roles in different cell types. In nonmuscle cells, the cytoskeletal isoform is found along microfilament bundles and adherens-type junctions, where it is involved in binding actin to the membrane. In contrast, skeletal, cardiac, and smooth muscle isoforms are localized to the Z-disc and analogous dense bodies, where they help anchor the myofibrillar actin filaments. This gene encodes a nonmuscle, alpha actinin isoform which is concentrated in the cytoplasm, and thought to be involved in metastatic processes. Mutations in this gene have been associated with focal and segmental glomerulosclerosis.
