The protein encoded by AP3D1 is a subunit of the AP3 adaptor-like complex, which is not clathrin-associated, but is associated with the golgi region, as well as more peripheral structures. Additionally we are shipping and many more products for this protein.

Unexpectedly, no evidence of binding between the N-terminal matrix (MA) domain of HIV-1 Gag and the cellular Adaptor Protein AP-3 (AP-3delta) was observed in these in vitro experiments.
The matrix region of HIV-1 Gag interacts directly with the delta subunit of the AP-3 complex, and that this interaction plays an important functional role in particle assembly
AP-3 and AP-1 (show FOSB Antibodies) function in partially redundant pathways to transfer tyrosinase (show TYR Antibodies) from distinct endosomal subdomains to melanosomes and that the AP-3 pathway ensures that tyrosinase (show TYR Antibodies) averts entrapment on internal membranes of forming multivesicular bodies
The studies demonstrate a role for AP-3 in HIV replication in a tetraspanin-rich compartment in dendritic cells (DC) and contribute to the elucidation of the trafficking pathways required for DC-T cell transfer of HIV-1 infection.
The linker of the delta-adaptin subunit of AP3 (show AP3B1 Antibodies) binds the VAMP7 (show VAMP7 Antibodies) longin domain and determines the structure of their complex.
This study demonstrated that distinct brain regions differentially regulate AP-3-dependent synaptic vesicle biogenesis.
Assembly and function of AP-3 complexes in cells expressing mutant subunits
Data suggest that adaptor-related protein complex 3 delta could be involved in the regulation of progenitor cell competence and the eventual ratio of resulting differentiated cells.
A null mutation in Ap3d in the mouse results in the mouse mutant "mocha" (mh). In addition to coat and eye color dilution and platelet storage pool deficiency, mocha mice have neurological impairment and are hyperactive.
The protein encoded by this gene is a subunit of the AP3 adaptor-like complex, which is not clathrin-associated, but is associated with the golgi region, as well as more peripheral structures. The AP-3 complex facilitates the budding of vesicles from the golgi membrane, and may be directly involved in trafficking to lysosomes. This subunit is implicated in intracellular biogenesis and trafficking of pigment granules, and possibly platelet dense granules and neurotransmitter vesicles. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
