The current study shows that AnxA6 is specifically reduced in human hepatocellular carcinoma suggesting a role of this protein in hepatocarcinogenesis.
Data suggest that reduced ability of AnxA6-expressing cells to migrate is associated with decreased cell surface expression of integrins alphaVbeta3 and alpha5beta1.
ANXA6 was detected as a novel systemic lupus erythematosus susceptibility gene, with several single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) contributing independently to the association with disease
ANXA6 is a EZH2 (show EZH2 Antibodies) target gene involving gastric cellular proliferation.

These results show that influenza A virus replication depends on maintenance of the cellular cholesterol balance and identify AnxA6 as a critical factor in linking the virus to cellular cholesterol homeostasis.
TNIP1 (show TNIP1 Antibodies)/ANXA6 and CSMD1 (show CSMD1 Antibodies) variants interacting with cigarette smoking and alcohol intake affect risk of psoriasis.
Ca(2 (show CA2 Antibodies)+) is the main factor which regulates the interaction of AnxA6 with monolayers composed of neutral lipids, determine AnxA6 localization in cholesterol and sphingomyelin enriched microdomains, thus contributing to the etiology of the NPC (show NPC1 Antibodies) disease.
AnxA6 is a new PKCalpha (show PKCa Antibodies) scaffold to promote PKCalpha (show PKCa Antibodies)-mediated EGFR (show EGFR Antibodies) inactivation.
Transient knockdown of annexin A6 and calsequestrin 1 (show CASQ1 Antibodies) protein of high-active mice with vivo-morpholinos resulted in decreased physical activity levels (P = 0.001).
Anxa6 is a modifier of muscular dystrophy and membrane repair after injury.
anxA6 inhibits Drp1 (show CRMP1 Antibodies) activity, and Ca(2 (show CA2 Antibodies)+)-binding to anxA6 relieves this inhibition to permit Drp1 (show CRMP1 Antibodies)-mediated mitochondrial
cell surface annexin VI may function as an acidic pH binding site or receptor and may also function as a co-receptor with LRP-1 (show LRP1 Antibodies) at neutral pH

AnxA6 is a novel receptor that mediates the endocytosis of bovine beta-glucuronidase (show GUSB Antibodies).
The results showed that alkaline phosphatase activity was significantly increased in matrix vesicles from calcified bovine vascular smooth muscle cells (BVSMCs) compared with noncalcified BVSMCs, as was annexin II (show ANXA2 Antibodies) and VI content and (45)Ca uptake.
Annexin VI belongs to a family of calcium-dependent membrane and phospholipid binding proteins. Several members of the annexin family have been implicated in membrane-related events along exocytotic and endocytotic pathways. The annexin VI gene is approximately 60 kbp long and contains 26 exons. It encodes a protein of about 68 kDa that consists of eight 68-amino acid repeats separated by linking sequences of variable lengths. It is highly similar to human annexins I and II sequences, each of which contain four such repeats. Annexin VI has been implicated in mediating the endosome aggregation and vesicle fusion in secreting epithelia during exocytosis. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described.
