More Proteins for Calpain 11 (CAPN11) Interaction Partners

Human Calpain 11 (CAPN11) interaction partners

  1. Characterization of a related mouse gene and comparison of the protein to the human protein.

Mouse (Murine) Calpain 11 (CAPN11) interaction partners

  1. Collectively, these results reveal a novel role of CRMP-3 (show DPYSL4 Proteins) in that calpain cleavage of CRMP-3 (show DPYSL4 Proteins) and the subsequent nuclear translocation of the truncated CRMP-3 (show DPYSL4 Proteins) evokes neuronal death in response to excitotoxicity and cerebral ischemia.

  2. Results demonstrate that calpain 11 is expressed specifically in the mouse testis.

CAPN11 Protein Profile

Protein Summary

Calpains constitute a family of intracellular calcium-dependent cysteine proteases. There are eight members in this superfamily. They consist of a variable 80 kDa subunit and an invariant 30 kDa subunit. This calpain protein appears to have protease activity and calcium-binding ability. A similar mouse protein may play a functional role in spermatogenesis and in the regulation of calcium-dependent signal transduction events during meiosis.
