Carbonic anhydrases (CAs) are a large family of zinc metalloenzymes that catalyze the reversible hydration of carbon dioxide. Additionally we are shipping Carbonic Anhydrase IV Antibodies (59) and Carbonic Anhydrase IV Kits (19) and many more products for this protein.

Mice with a mutant thyroid hormone receptor alpha1 (show THRA Proteins) have permanently reduced Car4 in lung and brain. These findings identify a previously unknown marker of thyroid hormone receptor alpha1 (show THRA Proteins) action in brain and lung.
two CA isoforms, CAII (show CA2 Proteins) and CAIV, are distributed along the epididymal epithelium and appear with the onset of puberty
eosinophils express CAR4 following IL-5 (show IL5 Proteins) or allergen exposure, and that CAR4 is involved in regulating the lung transcriptome associated with allergic airway inflammation
membrane-associated CA IV contributes robust catalytic activity intracellularly, and this activity participates in regulating H(+) dynamics in the cytosol in neurons
Data show a 32.13% reduction in total CA activity in CA IV(-/-) mice.
Car4, Car6, and Car12 showed moderate expression levels in the mouse harderian gland.
Data show that spermatozoa pick up membrane-bound carbonic anhydrase IV during their passage through the epididymal duct.
Both carbonic anhydrase 4 (CA4) and CA14 (show CA14 Proteins) contribute to neuronal pH regulation by enabling the acid-loading function of anion exchanger AE3 (show SLC4A3 Proteins) protein.
Decreased expression of colonic Slc26a3 (show SLC26A3 Proteins) and carbonic anhydrase iv as a cause of fatal infectious diarrhea in mice.
study demonstrated that the sour-sensing cells act as the taste sensors for carbonation, and showed that carbonic anhydrase 4, a glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored enzyme, functions as the principal CO2 taste sensor
CA4 is a novel tumour suppressor in Colorectal cancer through the inhibition of the Wnt (show WNT2 Proteins) signalling pathway by targeting the WTAP (show WTAP Proteins)-WT1 (show WT1 Proteins)-TBL1 (show TBL1X Proteins) axis. CA4 methylation may serve as an independent biomarker for the recurrence of Colorectal cancer .
Carbonic anhydrase 4 is lost in papillary thyroid carcinoma but not thyroid nodules
Although CA IV has been shown to be active in mediating CO2 and HCO3 (-) transport in many important tissues like kidney and lung, and in isolated cells from brain and muscle, the gene for CA IV appears not to be essential.
Coexpression of CAIV with MCT1 (show CMA1 Proteins) and MCT4 (show SLC16A4 Proteins) resulted in a significant increase in MCT (show MCAT Proteins) transport activity.
The generation of CA III (show CA3 Proteins) and IV autoantibodies, antioxidant enzymes, and cytokines might influence each other.
membrane-associated CA IV contributes robust catalytic activity intracellularly, and this activity participates in regulating H(+) dynamics in the cytosol
Two SNPs of carbonic anhydrase IV, which are responsible for amino acid changes, were found. The frequencies of these SNPs were not significantly different between the caries-free group and the group with caries
data suggest that extracellular membrane-bound CAIV, but not cytosolic CAII, augments transport activity of MCT2 in a non-catalytic manner, possibly by facilitating a proton pathway other than His-88
compared the subcellular localization and post-translational processing of wild-type (WT)- and retinitis pigmentosa 17 mutant-CAIV in three cell types
The results suggest that the expression level of carbonic anhydrase IV may be important to maintain retina function in retinitis pigmentosa.
Carbonic anhydrases (CAs) are a large family of zinc metalloenzymes that catalyze the reversible hydration of carbon dioxide. They participate in a variety of biological processes, including respiration, calcification, acid-base balance, bone resorption, and the formation of aqueous humor, cerebrospinal fluid, saliva, and gastric acid. They show extensive diversity in tissue distribution and in their subcellular localization. This gene encodes a glycosylphosphatidyl-inositol-anchored membrane isozyme expressed on the luminal surfaces of pulmonary (and certain other) capillaries and proximal renal tubules. Its exact function is not known\; however, it may have a role in inherited renal abnormalities of bicarbonate transport.
