Carbonic anhydrases (CAs) are a large family of zinc metalloenzymes that catalyze the reversible hydration of carbon dioxide. Additionally we are shipping Carbonic Anhydrase VB, Mitochondrial Antibodies (57) and Carbonic Anhydrase VB, Mitochondrial Proteins (15) and many more products for this protein.

In 10 of 96 patients, mutations in CA5A (show CA5A ELISA Kits) were identified on both alleles but none in CA5B. Exhibiting decreased enzyme activity or thermal stability, all CAVA (show CA5A ELISA Kits) mutations were proven to cause disease, whereas the three variants showed no relevant effect
activators enhanced kcat, with no effect on KM, favoring the RDS (show PRPH2 ELISA Kits) in the catalytic cycle; the activation pattern of the two mitochondrial isoforms is very different from each other and as compared to those of the cytosolic isoforms hCA I and II.
both Car5A (show CA5A ELISA Kits) and Car5B contribute to both ammonia detoxification (ureagenesis) and regulation of fasting blood sugar (gluconeogenesis).
Car5b and Car13 (show CA13 ELISA Kits) showed the highest signals in the mouse harderian gland.
Carbonic anhydrases (CAs) are a large family of zinc metalloenzymes that catalyze the reversible hydration of carbon dioxide. They participate in a variety of biological processes, including respiration, calcification, acid-base balance, bone resorption, and the formation of aqueous humor, cerebrospinal fluid, saliva, and gastric acid. They show extensive diversity in tissue distribution and in their subcellular localization. CA VB is localized in the mitochondria and shows the highest sequence similarity to the other mitochondrial CA, CA VA. It has a wider tissue distribution than CA VA, which is restricted to the liver. The differences in tissue distribution suggest that the two mitochondrial carbonic anhydrases evolved to assume different physiologic roles.
