Fruit Fly (Drosophila melanogaster) Carboxypeptidase D (CPD) interaction partners

  1. Individual carboxypeptidase D domains have both redundant and unique functions in Drosophila development and behavior.

  2. the Drosophila silver gene corresponds to a Carboxypeptidase D-like protein with three carboxypeptidase-like domains, a transmembrane domain, and a cytosolic tail

  3. The molecular basis for the phenotype of 3 carboxypeptidase D mutations are presented.

  4. Data show that Drosophila S2 cells produce multiple forms of carboxypeptidase D with different intracellular distributions.

Human Carboxypeptidase D (CPD) interaction partners

  1. The human carboxypeptidase D transthyretin (show TTR Proteins)-like domain forms amyloid under physiological conditions.

  2. Prolactin (show PRL Proteins) and R1881, acting through Stat5 (show STAT5A Proteins) and androgen receptor (show AR Proteins), act cooperatively to stimulate CPD gene transcription in breast cancer cells.

  3. CPD immunostaining and testosterone/prolactin (show PRL Proteins)-stimulated CPD expression were higher in prostate cancer than benign tissues/cells. Elevated CPD increased NO production, which was abolished when both androgen and prolactin (show PRL Proteins) receptors were inhibited.

  4. Carboxypeptidase D (CPD) is frequently upregulated in hepatocellular carcinoma; targeting CPD inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma cell proliferation through induction of G1 cell-cycle arrest and apoptosis.

  5. Either high glucose or insulin (show INS Proteins) (with low glucose) up-regulates beta-cell CPD (but not CPE (show CPE Proteins)).

  6. Palmitoylation of carboxypeptidase D has a role in intracellular trafficking

  7. The isolation and characterization of CPD from several haematopoietic tumour cells are reported.

  8. First report to demonstrate carboxypeptidase D as part of the transforming growth factor (TGF)-beta (show TGFB1 Proteins) pathway as a TGF-beta (show TGFB1 Proteins) target gene implicated in the pathogenesis of lupus erythematosus.

  9. prolactin (show PRL Proteins) or E2 up-regulated CPD mRNA and protein expression in MCF-7 breast cancer cells promoting their survival

  10. CPD releases C-terminal Arg from peptides to provide the precursor substrate for inducible nitric oxide synthase (show NOS2 Proteins), which enhances nitric oxide synthesis in macrophages.

Mouse (Murine) Carboxypeptidase D (CPD) interaction partners

  1. stress-alcohol locomotor cross-sensitization was regulated by Homer2 (show HOMER2 Proteins).

  2. NMDA receptor function, but not ethanol sensitivity, is reduced in hippocampal neurons lacking the Homer2 (show HOMER2 Proteins) gene

  3. mouse mutants homozygous for the targeted deletion of Homer2 (show HOMER2 Proteins) present with early-onset rapidly progressive hearing loss.

  4. Findings indicate an important regulation of plasma membrane Ca(2+)-ATPase (show ATP2B2 Proteins) (PMCA) by Homer2 (show HOMER2 Proteins) protein that has a central role on PMCA-mediated Ca(2 (show CA2 Proteins)+) signaling in parotid acinar cells.

  5. This study deministrated that PFC (show CFP Proteins) Homer2 (show HOMER2 Proteins) overexpression enhances cocaine-conditioned reward in mice.

  6. Homer (show HOMER1 Proteins) 1b/c isoform is identical irrespective of the muscle; Homer (show HOMER1 Proteins) 2a/b is instead characteristic of the slow-twitch phenotype.

  7. These data support the over-arching hypothesis that augmented accumbens Homer2 (show HOMER2 Proteins)-mediated glutamate (show GRIN1 Proteins) signaling may be an endophenotype related to genetic variance in alcohol consumption

  8. Homer2 (show HOMER2 Proteins) tunes G protein-coupled receptors stimulus intensity by regulating RGS (show PITX2 Proteins) proteins and PLCbeta GAP activities.

  9. In the developing olfactory bulb, Cupidin (show HOMER2 Proteins)/Homer (show HOMER1 Proteins) 2a/b is up-regulated in the granular, external plexiform, and glomerular layers

CPD Protein Profile

Protein Summary

The metallocarboxypeptidase family of enzymes is divided into 2 subfamilies based on sequence similarities. The pancreatic carboxypeptidase-like and the regulatory B-type carboxypeptidase subfamilies. Carboxypeptidase D has been identified as a regulatory B-type carboxypeptidase. CPD is a homolog of duck gp180, a hepatitis B virus-binding protein. Transcript variants utilizing alternative polyadenylation signals exist for this gene.
