Human Carboxypeptidase E (CPE) interaction partners

  1. Down-expression of liver carboxypeptidase E may reduce the secretion of serum cholecystokinin (show CCK Antibodies) and contribute to the formation of cholesterol gallstone.

  2. Downregulation of CPE regulates cell proliferation and chemosensitivity in pancreatic cancer.

  3. Disruption of insulin receptor (IR (show INSR Antibodies)) expression in beta cells has a direct impact on the expression of the convertase enzyme carboxypeptidase E (CPE) by inhibition of the eukaryotic translation initiation factor (show EIF2A Antibodies) Eif4g1 (show EIF4G1 Antibodies).

  4. Upregulation of CPE promotes cell proliferation and tumorigenicity in colorectal cancer.

  5. Data suggest that splice variant of carboxypeptidase E (CPE-DeltaN) that CPE-DeltaN expression might be a potential prognostic marker for colorectal cancer patients.

  6. CPE is essential in the process and targeting of neuropeptides and neurotrophins, its participation in the pathological progression of Alzheimer's disease may be suggested

  7. CPE forms a complex, probably through sequences located at its N-terminal domain, with Wnt3a (show WNT3A Antibodies) and the extracellular cysteine rich domain of Fz1 (show FZD4 Antibodies).

  8. Neither high glucose nor insulin (show INS Antibodies) (with low glucose) regulates beta-cell CPE (but either up-regulates CPD (show CPD Antibodies)).

  9. an N-terminal truncated carboxypeptidase E splice isoform induces tumor growth and is a biomarker for predicting future metastasis in human cancers

  10. CPE may play a role in promoting tumor growth and invasion.

Mouse (Murine) Carboxypeptidase E (CPE) interaction partners

  1. An anti-inflammatory role of CPE in the intestine by influencing local cytokine levels and thus regulating the migration of myeloid immune cells into the mucosa.

  2. This study shown that NF-alpha1-mediated upregulation of hippocampal FGF2 (show FGF2 Antibodies) and neurogenesis prevents an onset of chronic stress-induced depressive-like behavior

  3. The neuroprotective effect of CPE-DeltaN against neuronal glutamate (show GRIN1 Antibodies) neurotoxicity was mediated by secreted FGF2 (show FGF2 Antibodies).

  4. Carboxypeptidase E is an important modulator of RANKL (show TNFSF11 Antibodies)-induced osteoclast differentiation.

  5. Report the effects of ovalbumin (show OVA Antibodies) sensitization and challenge on oscillatory mechanics of the lung and pulmonary inflammation in obese carboxypeptidase E-deficient mice.

  7. This study has identified CPE as a new neurotrophic factor (show NTF3 Antibodies) that can protect neurons against degeneration.

  8. Data suggests that CPE plays critical role in neuroprotection/allostasis in hippocampal neurons during mild chronic stress; up-regulation of CPE and BCL2 (B cell leukemia/lymphoma 2) expression is possibly mediated by glucocorticoids.

  9. There are multiple mechanisms for sorting proglucagon (show GCG Antibodies) to the regulated secretory pathway, including a role for carboxypeptidase E in pancreatic alpha cells, initial cleavage at K70R71 and multiple sorting signals.

  10. The results, whereby RNAi was used to acutely suppress CPE, do not support a role for this protein as necessary for or central to sorting of POMC/ACTH (show POMC Antibodies) to the regulated secretory pathway in AtT-20 cells.

Carboxypeptidase E (CPE) Antigen Profile

Protein Summary

This gene encodes a carboxypeptidase that cleaves C-terminal amino acid residues and is involved in the biosynthesis of peptide hormones and neurotransmitters, including insulin. It is a peripheral membrane protein. The protein specifically binds regulated secretory pathway proteins, including prohormones, but not constitutively secreted proteins. Mutations in this gene are implicated in type II diabetes.
