  1. our data show that human and bovine CEACAM1 can both inhibit NK-cell cytotoxicity although they differ in their intracellular signaling motifs

  2. Data from cultured aortic endothelial cells suggest that CEACAM1 is involved in regulation of vascular endothelial cell reactions to oxidative stress/lipid peroxidation and in regulation of nitric oxide production in large vessels such as aorta.

  3. This data represents the first report of a functional link between CEACAM1 and the VEGFR2 (show KDR ELISA Kits)/Akt (show AKT1 ELISA Kits)/eNOS (show NOS3 ELISA Kits)-mediated vascular permeability pathway.

  4. CEACAM1 has two alleles and serves as a pathogen receptor in cattle.

Mouse (Murine) Carcinoembryonic Antigen-Related Cell Adhesion Molecule 1 (Biliary Glycoprotein) (CEACAM1) interaction partners

  1. REVIEW: summarizes the vascular effects of CEACAM1 and focuses on its role in vascular morphogenesis and endothelial barrier regulation

  2. CEACAM1 exacerbates hypoxic cardiomyocyte injury and post-infarction cardiac remodeling by enhancing cardiomyocyte mitochondrial dysfunction and endoplasmic reticulum stress-induced apoptosis.

  3. The increase in total fat mass in Cc1 (show RB1CC1 ELISA Kits)(-/-) mice is mainly attributed to hyperphagia and reduced spontaneous physical activity. Although the contribution of the loss of CEACAM1 from anorexigenic proopiomelanocortin (show POMC ELISA Kits) neurons in the arcuate nucleus is unclear, leptin (show LEP ELISA Kits) resistance and elevated hypothalamic fatty-acid synthase (show FASN ELISA Kits) activity could underlie altered energy balance in these mice.

  4. Ceacam1 is essential for normal integrin aIIbb3-mediated platelet function; the disruption of mouse Ceacam1 induced moderate integrin aIIbb3-mediated functional defects.

  5. hepatic CEACAM1 expression at fasting is mediated by Pparalpha (show PPARA ELISA Kits)-dependent mechanisms.

  6. Gram-positive bacteria promote the mRNA expression of CEACAM1 or CEACAM20 in the small intestine. Inflammatory cytokines or butyrate likely participates in such effects of commensal bacteria.

  7. CEACAM1 is a crucial regulator of B-cell survival, influencing B-cell numbers and protective antiviral antibody responses

  8. High-fat diet amplifies the permissive effect of Ceacam1 deletion on renal expression of all renin (show REN ELISA Kits)-angiotensin system components, PI3K phosphorylation, inflammation, and fibrosis.

  9. Ceacam1L acts as a crucial factor in glioblastoma-initiating cell maintenance and tumorigenesis by activating c-Src (show SRC ELISA Kits)/STAT3 (show STAT3 ELISA Kits) signaling. Monomers of the cytoplasmic domain of Ceacam1L bound to c-Src (show SRC ELISA Kits) and STAT3 (show STAT3 ELISA Kits) and induced their phosphorylation.

  10. CEACAM1 levels in the liver were reduced in prenatally stressed diet-induced obesity offspring after the high fat diet challenge, suggesting that preexisting genetic predisposition combined with prenatal stress increases the risk for obesity in adulthood.

  2. We also found that MMP12 (show MMP12 ELISA Kits) facilitated type I collagen induced platelet aggregation, adhesion and alpha granule secretion. Similarly, one short peptide, WYKG, facilitated type I collagen induced platelet alpha granule secretion. We conclude that platelet express MMP12 (show MMP12 ELISA Kits) may facilitate platelet activation through shedding of CEACAM1.

  3. We demonstrate that recombinant Neisseria Opa proteins reconstituted into liposomes retain the ability to recognize and interact with CEACAM1 and 3 in vitro but do not maintain receptor specificity compared to that of Opa proteins natively expressed by Neisseria gonorrhoeae.

  4. use NMR cross-correlation measurements to examine the effect of glycosylation on CEACAM1-IgV dimerization and use residual dipolar coupling (RDC) measurements to characterize the solution structure of the non-glycosylated form.

  6. The diffuse and cytoplasmic expression of CD66a may involve the early stage of the hepatocellular carcinoma , and the loss of CD66a expression indicates tumor progression.

  7. this study shows that the expression of CEACAM1 is correlated with advanced stage and could be independent risk factors for colorectal cancer

  8. Increased serum CEA (show CEACAM5 ELISA Kits) level reflected CEACAM1 expression and was an independent factor predictive of recurrence in hepatocellular carcinoma through epithelial-mesenchymal transition and tumor angiogenesis

  9. CEACAM1 might be regarded as a marker of salivary glandular tumors.

  10. CEACAM1 mediates bacterial adherence and transcellular transcytosis.

Carcinoembryonic Antigen-Related Cell Adhesion Molecule 1 (Biliary Glycoprotein) (CEACAM1) Antigen Profile

Antigen Summary

This gene encodes a member of the carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) gene family, which belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. Two subgroups of the CEA family, the CEA cell adhesion molecules and the pregnancy-specific glycoproteins, are located within a 1.2 Mb cluster on the long arm of chromosome 19. Eleven pseudogenes of the CEA cell adhesion molecule subgroup are also found in the cluster. The encoded protein was originally described in bile ducts of liver as biliary glycoprotein. Subsequently, it was found to be a cell-cell adhesion molecule detected on leukocytes, epithelia, and endothelia. The encoded protein mediates cell adhesion via homophilic as well as heterophilic binding to other proteins of the subgroup. Multiple cellular activities have been attributed to the encoded protein, including roles in the differentiation and arrangement of tissue three-dimensional structure, angiogenesis, apoptosis, tumor suppression, metastasis, and the modulation of innate and adaptive immune responses. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been reported, but the full-length nature of all variants has not been defined.
