Human Monoclonal CFHR4 Primary Antibody for FACS, ICC - ABIN4899500
Hebecker, Józsi: Factor H-related protein 4 activates complement by serving as a platform for the assembly of alternative pathway C3 convertase via its interaction with C3b protein. in The Journal of biological chemistry 2012
Next-generation sequencing of the CFH (show CFH Antibodies) region identified putatively functional variants (missense, splice site and indel) on the four common haplotypes. We found no expression of any of the five CFH (show CFH Antibodies)-related genes in the retina or RPE (show RPE Antibodies)/Choroid/Sclera, in contrast to the liver, which is the main source of the circulating proteins. [CFHR4]
Studies indicate that complement factor H (show CFH Antibodies)-related proteins (FHR1 (show CFHR1 Antibodies)-5) may enhance complement activation, with important implications for the role of these proteins in disease.
Factor H (show CFH Antibodies)-related protein 4 activates complement by serving as a platform for the assembly of alternative pathway C3 convertase via its interaction with C3b protein
Systemic lupus erythematosus were detected in European Americans and African Americans, which could be attributed to an intronic complement regulator factor H (CFH (show CFH Antibodies)) single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) and an intergenic SNP between CFHR1 (show CFHR1 Antibodies) and CFHR4.
These data reveal the molecular basis of the specific interaction of CFHR4 with native CRP (show CRP Antibodies) and suggest a role for CFHR4 in enhancing opsonization via CRP (show CRP Antibodies) binding.
Association of factor H (show CFH Antibodies) autoantibodies with deletions of CFHR1 (show CFHR1 Antibodies), CFHR3 (show CFHR3 Antibodies), CFHR4, and with mutations in CFH (show CFH Antibodies), CFI (show CFI Antibodies), CD46 (show CD46 Antibodies), and C3 in patients with atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome.
FHR-4A is a new Factor H (show CFH Antibodies)-related protein with a unique domain composition, that is an internal duplication of four CCP (show CRYGD Antibodies) domains FHR-4A provides the first evidence for alternative splicing among Factor H (show CFH Antibodies)-related genes.
These data identify CFHR4 as a novel ligand for native CRP (show CRP Antibodies), and suggest a role for CFHR4 in opsonization of necrotic cells.
This gene is a member of the complement factor H (CFH) gene family, and encodes one of the 5 CFH-related (CFHR) proteins. These 5 genes are closely linked to the CFH gene on chromosome 1q31-q32. The CFHRs are secreted plasma proteins synthesized primarily by the hepatocytes, and composed of highly-related short consensus repeats (SCRs). This protein enhances the cofactor activity of CFH, and is involved in complement regulation. It can associate with lipoproteins and may play a role in lipid metabolism. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms (varying in the number of SCRs) have been described for this gene.
