Dios-induced cell apoptosis could be reversed by p53 (show TP53 Antibodies) blockade and the effects of Dios on cellular P53 (show TP53 Antibodies) and CYP1A1/CYP1A2 (show CYP1A1 Antibodies) proteins levels were examined. Found P53 (show TP53 Antibodies), CYP1A1 (show CYP1A1 Antibodies), and CYP1A2 proteins were up-regulated by diosmetin; p53 (show TP53 Antibodies) downregulation by pifithrin caused inhibition of apoptosis.
the difference in clozapine levels between smokers and nonsmokers appeared to be significant in the individuals carrying the homozygous -163A allele (P=0.02). It was also found that nonsmokers carrying the -163A allele tended to have higher plasma levels of clozapine. Cigarette smoking has a significant impact on the plasma level of clozapine in schizophrenic patients carrying the homozygous -163A allele in the CYP1A2 gen (show GEN1 Antibodies)
genetic association studies in population in Spain: Data suggest that an SNP in CYP1A2 (-163C>A; rs762551) is not associated with performance enhancement/visual attention effects in response to moderate caffeine consumption as dietary supplement (capsules) during exercise; C-allele carriers reported increased nervousness after caffeine ingestion.
We conducted a genome-wide association study (GWAS) of plasma caffeine, paraxanthine, theophylline, theobromine and paraxanthine/caffeine ratio. This gene encodes a member of the cytochrome P450 superfamily of enzymes. The cytochrome P450 proteins are monooxygenases which catalyze many reactions involved in drug metabolism and synthesis of cholesterol, steroids and other lipids. The protein encoded by this gene localizes to the endoplasmic reticulum and its expression is induced by some polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), some of which are found in cigarette smoke. The enzyme's endogenous substrate is unknown\; however, it is able to metabolize some PAHs to carcinogenic intermediates. Other xenobiotic substrates for this enzyme include caffeine, aflatoxin B1, and acetaminophen. The transcript from this gene contains four Alu sequences flanked by direct repeats in the 3' untranslated region.
