  1. FOXP4 and SHROOM1 genes are hypermethylated in the knee osteoarthritic cartilage.

  2. High FOXP4 expression is associated with non-small cell lung cancer.

  3. association of the THADA, FOXP4, GPRC6A/RFX6 (show RFX6 Proteins) and 8q24 genes with prostate cancer in Asian populations.

  4. rs4714476 at the 5' near gene of FOXP4 potentially contributes to the susceptibility of prostate cancer in Chinese men

  5. These findings suggest that miR (show MLXIP Proteins)-338-3p regulates survival of hepatocellular carcinoma cells partially through the downregulation of FOXP4

  6. Foxp4 is dispensable for T cell development, but necessary for normal T cell cytokine recall responses to antigen following pathogenic infection

  7. Our results provide further support for association of the C2orf43, FOXP4, GPRC6A and RFX6 (show RFX6 Proteins) genes with prostate cancer in Eastern Asian populations

  8. these data implicate specific members of the FOX family of TFs (FOXC1 (show FOXC1 Proteins), C2, P1, P4, and O1A) not previously suggested in heart failure pathogenesis.

  9. Contrary to the current view, T cell receptor-mediated signals are not responsible for the induction of FOXP3 (show FOXP3 Proteins) in human thymocytes.

  1. Collectively, these findings reveal an important role for the FOXP1 (show FOXP1 Proteins), 2, and 4 proteins in governing postnatal alpha cell expansion and function.

  2. Foxp1 (show FOXP1 Proteins)/2/4 may regulate Runx2 (show RUNX2 Proteins) during endochondral ossification.

  3. Loss of Foxp1 (show FOXP1 Proteins)/4 in the developing lung and in postnatal secretory epithelium leads to ectopic activation of the goblet cell fate program, in part, through de-repression of the protein disulfide isomerase (show P4HB Proteins) anterior gradient 2 (Agr2 (show AGR2 Proteins)).

  4. the data of this study revealed a Foxp (show FOXP2 Proteins)-based transcriptional mechanism that regulates the integrity and cytoarchitecture of neuroepithelial progenitors

  5. Foxp4 is dispensable for the early Purkinje cell (PC) dendrite outgrowth but is essential for the maintenance of PC dendritic arborization and subsequent association with Bergmann glial fibers.

  6. Foxp1 (show FOXP1 Proteins)/2/4-NuRD interactions regulate gene expression and epithelial injury response in the lung via regulation of interleukin-6 (show IL6 Proteins).

  7. Foxp4 is expressed exclusively in the epithelial cells of the developing intestine, where, in late development, it is expressed in a gradient along the longitudinal axis of the villi

  8. In adult tissues FoxP4 is expressed in heart, brain, lung, liver, kidney, and testis. In situ hybridization revealed expression of FoxP4 in the developing lung and gut (show GUSB Proteins)

  9. complex regulatory mechanism underlying Foxp1 (show FOXP1 Proteins), Foxp2 (show FOXP2 Proteins), and Foxp4 activity, demonstrating that Foxp1 (show FOXP1 Proteins), Foxp2 (show FOXP2 Proteins), and Foxp4 are the first Fox proteins reported whose activity is regulated by homo- and heterodimerization

FOXP4 Protein Profile

Protein Summary

This gene belongs to subfamily P of the forkhead box (FOX) transcription factor family. Forkhead box transcription factors play important roles in the regulation of tissue- and cell type-specific gene transcription during both development and adulthood. Many members of the forkhead box gene family, including members of subfamily P, have roles in mammalian oncogenesis. This gene may play a role in the development of tumors of the kidney and larynx. Alternative splicing of this gene produces multiple transcript variants, some encoding different isoforms.
