Zebrafish G Protein-Coupled Receptor 84 (GPR84) interaction partners

Xenopus laevis G Protein-Coupled Receptor 84 (GPR84) interaction partners

  1. Fibroblast growth factor signaling requires Xmig6 (show ERRFI1 Proteins) for muscle differentiation in Xenopus embryos. Fibroblast growth factor signaling may involve XGPCR4 in gastrulation.

  2. Data demonstrates that GPR84 is necessary in the retina for proper development of the retina, as well as other eye tissues including the lens and cornea.

Human G Protein-Coupled Receptor 84 (GPR84) interaction partners

  1. concluded that diindolylmethane was a positive allosteric modulator for GPR84

  2. A previously unrecognized role of GPR84 in maintaining fully developed acute myeloid leukemia (show BCL11A Proteins) by sustaining aberrant beta-catenin (show CTNNB1 Proteins) signaling in leukemic stem cells.

  3. Medium-chain fatty acid-sensing receptor, GPR84, is a proinflammatory receptor.

Mouse (Murine) G Protein-Coupled Receptor 84 (GPR84) interaction partners

  1. We conclude that GPR84 plays a beneficial role in amyloid pathology by acting as a sensor for a yet unknown ligand that promotes microglia recruitment, a response affecting dendritic degeneration and required to prevent further cognitive decline.

  2. We found that lipopolysaccharide-stimulated GPR84 knockout macrophages exhibited attenuated expression of several proinflammatory mediators.

  3. As GPR84 plays a role in the biology of myeloid cells, it could be relevant to consider the existence of this mutation when choosing a mouse model to study immune processes, and to consider reevaluating data obtained using such strains.

  4. primary stimulation of T cells with anti-CD3 (show CD3E Proteins) resulted in increased interleukin-4 (show IL4 Proteins) but not interleukin-2 (show IL2 Proteins) or interferon -gamma (show IFNG Proteins) production in GPR84(-/-) mice compared to wild-type mice

  5. in mice suffering from endotoxemia, microglia express GPR84 in a strong and sustained manner

GPR84 Protein Profile

Protein Summary

Receptor for medium-chain free fatty acid (FFA) with carbon chain lengths of C9 to C14. Capric acid (C10:0), undecanoic acid (C11:0) and lauric acid (C12:0) are the most potent agonists. Not activated by short-chain and long-chain saturated and unsaturated FFAs. Activation by medium-chain free fatty acid is coupled to a pertussis toxin sensitive G(i/o) protein pathway. May have important roles in processes from fatty acid metabolism to regulation of the immune system (By similarity).
