GIMAP1 encodes a protein belonging to the GTP-binding superfamily and to the immuno-associated nucleotide (IAN) subfamily of nucleotide-binding proteins. Additionally we are shipping GTPase, IMAP Family Member 1 Antibodies (9) and GTPase, IMAP Family Member 1 Proteins (5) and many more products for this protein.
GIMAP1 and SERHL variants may be important for appendicular lean mass
Shows a critical role for the related mouse gene in mature lymphocyte development and survival.
The himap1 gene belongs to a gene family clustered on chromosome 7q32-36 within a region highly syntenic to the mouse imap38 locus on chromosome 6B.
GIMAP1 and GIMAP4 (show GIMAP4 ELISA Kits) genes are up-regulated by IL-12 (show IL12A ELISA Kits) and other Th1 (show TH1L ELISA Kits) differentiation-inducing cytokines in cells induced to differentiate toward Th1 (show TH1L ELISA Kits) lineage and down-regulated by IL-4 (show IL4 ELISA Kits) in cells induced to Th2.
The data suggest that GIMAP1 is absolutely essential for the survival of peripheral B cells, irrespective of their activation state.
These findings show a vital requirement for GIMAP1 in mature lymphocyte development/survival
The model of up-regulation of GIMAP1 in response to infection/immunization with P. chabaudi is not a robustly reproducible experimental system.
This gene encodes a protein belonging to the GTP-binding superfamily and to the immuno-associated nucleotide (IAN) subfamily of nucleotide-binding proteins. In humans, the IAN subfamily genes are located in a cluster at 7q36.1. This gene is thought to be involved in the differentiation of T helper (Th) cells of the Th1 lineage, and the related mouse gene has been shown to be critical for the development of mature B and T lymphocytes. Read-through transcription exists between this gene and the downstream GIMAP5 (GTPase, IMAP family member 5) gene.
