Mouse (Murine) Gap Junction Protein, beta 1, 32kDa (GJB1) interaction partners

  1. We show that the cell-surface and secreted isoforms of CSF-1 (show CSF1 Proteins) have opposing effects on macrophage activation and disease progression in a mouse model of connexin32-deficientconnexin32-deficient mice

  2. Results identify CSF-1 (show CSF1 Proteins)-activated macrophages as crucial mediators of detrimental Schwann cell dedifferentiation in Cx32-deficient mice

  3. Blockade of endothelial Cx32 increased tissue factor (show F3 Proteins) expression induced by TNF-alpha (show TNF Proteins) stimulation and cell-cell interaction via ICAM1 (show ICAM1 Proteins). Direct Cx32-mediated interaction modulates TF expression in ECs during vascular inflammation.

  4. These findings support a role for Cx32 in non-myelinating and regenerating populations of Schwann cells in normal axonal maintenance in re-myelination, and regeneration of peripheral nerve following injury

  5. Connexin32 interacts with connexin26 (show GJB2 Proteins) and the mitochondrial protein (show COX6B2 Proteins), sideroflexin-1 (show SFXN1 Proteins), at the plasma membrane forming a novel signaling nexus.

  6. These results demonstrate that the incidence of hepatocellular carcinoma increases only in male Cx32KO mice, presumably due to enhanced tumor promotion and progression signals associated with Cx32 deficiency.

  7. Cx32 is differentially phosphorylated and exists in a complex with SAP97 (show DLG1 Proteins) and CaM (show Calm2 Proteins).

  8. Cx32 therapy improves gap junctional conductance results in larger infarct size, and no antiarrhythmic efficacy.

  9. Connexin 36 (show GJD2 Proteins) is expressed in beta and connexins 26 and 32 in acinar cells at the end of the secondary transition of mouse pancreatic development and increase during fetal and perinatal life.

  10. Data show that absence of connexin30 in knockout mice changes the expression patterns of connexin26 (show GJB2 Proteins) and connexin32 in glial cells and leptomeninges.

  1. A novel point mutation in GJB1 was detected, expanding the spectrum of GJB1 mutations known to be associated with CMTX.

  2. Complete loss of connexin32 function is sufficient to produce central nervous system dysfunction with clinical manifestations.

  3. This study reveals for the first time that Cx43 (show GJA1 Proteins) and Cx32 are down-regulated in keratocystic odontogenic tumours

  4. Transgenic expression of hCx32 in Cx32/Cx47dKO mice resulted in almost complete rescue of behavioral abnormalities in a hypomyelinating leukodystrophy model.

  5. No mutations were found in GJB1 in a cohort of 38 Italian CMT2 patients.

  6. Cx32 and Cx43 (show GJA1 Proteins) mRNA expression decreased gradually during H. pylori infection-associated gastric carcinogenesis, and it is associated with hypermethylation of these genes' promoter.

  7. Blockade of endothelial Cx32 increased tissue factor (show F3 Proteins) expression induced by TNF-alpha (show TNF Proteins) stimulation and cell-cell interaction via ICAM1 (show ICAM1 Proteins). Direct Cx32-mediated interaction modulates TF expression in ECs during vascular inflammation.

  8. findings suggest that the cytoplasmic tail of Cx32 may be involved in regulating the permeability of gap junctions by regulating their size.

  9. This study reported four novel mutations, c.191G > A, c.508G > T, c.778A > G and c.300C > G of GJB1 in four Greek families with variable clinical features and mild clinical CNS manifestations in three of them.

  10. Mutations in connexin 32 gene in patients with chronic rhinosinusitis, including recurrent acute rhinosinusitis, appear to be rare

Cow (Bovine) Gap Junction Protein, beta 1, 32kDa (GJB1) interaction partners

  1. intermediate invasive status of bovine trophoblast is supported by the fact that trophoblast giant cells coexpress connexins (Cx)26 (show GJB2 Proteins), Cx32, and Cx43 (show GJA1 Proteins)

Gap Junction Protein, beta 1, 32kDa (GJB1) Protein Profile

Protein Summary

This gene encodes a member of the gap junction protein family. The gap junction proteins are membrane-spanning proteins that assemble to form gap junction channels that facilitate the transfer of ions and small molecules between cells. According to sequence similarities at the nucleotide and amino acid levels, the gap junction proteins are divided into two categories, alpha and beta. Mutations in this gene cause X-linked Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, an inherited peripheral neuropathy. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene.
