  1. heparanase activity is increased without changes in superoxide dismutase (show SOD1 Antibodies) activity in the granulocytes from patients with lupus nephritis and membranous nephropathy

  2. Heparanase up-regulated the expression of the blood coagulation initiator-tissue factor (show F3 Antibodies) (TF) and interacted with the tissue factor pathway inhibitor (TFPI (show TFPI Antibodies)) on the cell surface membrane of endothelial and tumor cells, leading to dissociation of TFPI (show TFPI Antibodies) and resulting in increased cell surface coagulation activity. 4. Suggest heparanase is a promising, novel target for overcoming myeloma resistance to therapy and that targeting heparanase has the potential to prevent relapse in myeloma and possibly other cancers.

  5. expression of BRMS1 (show BRMS1 Antibodies) and/or HPA might be closely related to the carcinogenesis, clinical biological behaviors, and prognosis of gallbladder adenocarcinoma

  6. in colorectal adenomas, the heparanase-1 does not participate in syndecan-1 (show SDC1 Antibodies) degradation; the heparanase-2 (show HPSE2 Antibodies) does not stimulate syndecan-1 (show SDC1 Antibodies) degradation by the action of heparanase-1, and the heparanase-2 (show HPSE2 Antibodies) may be involved in the modulation of the heparanase-1 activity.

  7. higher heparanase expression in gastric cancer is associated with clinicopathologic features of depth of invasion, lymph node metastasis.

  8. JAK-2 (show JAK2 Antibodies) V617F mutation results in heparanase up-regulation via the erythropoietin receptor (show EPOR Antibodies).

Mouse (Murine) Heparanase (HPSE) interaction partners

  1. Heparanase increases the inflammation in AGEs-stimulated macrophages through activating the RAGE (show AGER Antibodies)-NF-kappaB (show NFKB1 Antibodies) pathway. Heparanase driven inflammation from AGEs-stimulated macrophages increases the adherence of glomerular endothelial cells (GEnCs) and augments the permeability of GEnCs.

  2. heparanase contributes to allergen-induced eosinophil recruitment to the lung.

  3. Unfractionated heparin inhibits heparanase, and reverses the activation of NF-kappaB (show NFKB1 Antibodies) and MAPK P38 (show MAPK1 Antibodies) signaling pathways to attenuate inflammatory responses induced by sepsis. These results suggest that UFH

Heparanase (HPSE) Antigen Profile

Protein Summary

Heparan sulfate proteoglycans are major components of the basement membrane and extracellular matrix. The protein encoded by this gene is an enzyme that cleaves heparan sulfate proteoglycans to permit cell movement through remodeling of the extracellular matrix. In addition, this cleavage can release bioactive molecules from the extracellular matrix. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
