The results uncovered a previously unknown role of integrin a4b7-MAdCAM-1 (show MADCAM1 Antibodies) interactions as drivers of colitis by directing inflammatory monocytes into the colon.
These results suggest that Tie2 (show TEK Antibodies) signaling induces alpha4beta1 integrin activation on bone marrow-mast cell progenitor for adhesion to VCAM-1 (show VCAM1 Antibodies).
ITGA4 expression enhances metastasis in MYCN (show MYCN Antibodies) low neuroblastoma (show ARHGEF16 Antibodies).
CD49d-high-expressing Th1 (show HAND1 Antibodies) memory phenotype CD4 (show CD4 Antibodies)+ T cells with enhanced B cell helper activity develop early in the peritoneal cavity.
Data suggest that bortezomib mobilizes hematopoietic stem cells (HSPCs) by modulation of the integrin alpha4beta1 (VLA)-4/vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 (VCAM-1 (show VCAM1 Antibodies)) axis.
Consistent with a role of alpha4beta7 in the generation of intestinal mononuclear phagocytes, bone marrow cells from beta7(-/-) mice poorly reconstituted small intestine retinoic acid (RA)-producing CD11c (show ITGAX Antibodies)(hi) dendritic cells.
SP/drug efflux functionality of hematopoietic progenitors is controlled by mesenchymal niche through VLA-4/CD44 (show CD44 Antibodies) axis.
We conclude that integrin alpha4beta1 is necessary for CD4 (show CD4 Antibodies)(+) T cell-mediated protection against C. trachomatis infection in the genital mucosa.
Mobilization of bone marrow-derived cells by G-CSF (show CSF3 Antibodies) boosted migration along the VCAM-1 (show VCAM1 Antibodies)/VLA-4 axis and reduced apoptosis of cardiomyocytes.
PI3-kinase gamma (show PIK3CG Antibodies) promotes Rap1a (show RAP1A Antibodies)-mediated activation of myeloid cell integrin alpha4beta1, leading to tumor inflammation and growth.
Data show tht Rho kinase (show ROCK1 Antibodies) (ROCK) activity was increased by inhibiting integrin alpha4 with human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) and hypoxia.

Enhanced susceptibility of activated endocervical CD4 (show CD4 Antibodies)+ T cells to HIV may be related to increased CCR5 (show CCR5 Antibodies) expression by these cell subsets, but did not appear to be due to direct interaction of integrins a4b7 or a4b1 with HIV envelope.

Hypermethylation of ITGA4 promoter is increased in inflamed colon tissue.
The product of this gene belongs to the integrin alpha chain family of proteins. Integrins are heterodimeric integral membrane proteins composed of an alpha chain and a beta chain. This gene encodes an alpha 4 chain. Unlike other integrin alpha chains, alpha 4 neither contains an I-domain, nor undergoes disulfide-linked cleavage. Alpha 4 chain associates with either beta 1 chain or beta 7 chain.
