Equine herpesvirus type 1 infection significantly decreased the expression of integrin alpha 6 in nasal mucosa epithelial cells.
Ahr (show AHR Proteins) ligand aminoflavone targets breast cancer cells with stem cell-like properties, at least in part by abolishing alpha6-integrin expression.
interaction of alpha6beta1 in embryonic stem cells (ECCs) with laminin-1 (show LAMA1 Proteins) activates alpha6beta1/CD151 (show CD151 Proteins) signaling which programs ESCs (show NR2E3 Proteins) toward the endothelial cells lineage fate
Exome sequencing analysis between SM/J and A/J mice identified 4 genes (Itga6, Zak (show ZAK Proteins), Gpr155, and Mtx2 (show MTX2 Proteins)) with nonsynonymous coding SNPs. These four genes might be candidate genes for type 2 diabetes caused by gene-gene interactions.
Immunohistological analysis of the tumors showed that Tie2 (show TEK Proteins)-dependent a6 gene deletion was associated with reduced tumor vascularization and with reduced infiltration of proangiogenic Tie2 (show TEK Proteins)-expressing macrophages
CD29 (show ITGB1 Proteins) and CD49f have a critical role of in mediating cancer metastasis.
NLGN1 (show NLGN1 Proteins) and alpha6 integrin preferentially colocalize in the mature retinal vessels, whereas NLGN1 (show NLGN1 Proteins) deletion causes an aberrant VE-cadherin (show CDH5 Proteins), laminin and alpha6 integrin distribution in vessels
alpha6 integrin is an essential upstream regulator of the IGF-1R (show IGF1R Proteins) survival pathway that regulates the activity level of caspase-3 (show CASP3 Proteins) for it to signal differentiation initiation of lens epithelial cells.
Deficiency of integrin alpha(6)beta(4) is modestly but significantly suppressed reporter-gene transduction by papillomaviruses in conditional integrin beta(4 (show ITGB4 Proteins)) knockout mice.
The alpha6beta1 integrin is a netrin-4 (show NTN4 Proteins) receptor in endothelial cells.
PHLDA1 (show PHLDA1 Proteins) expression marks the putative epithelial stem cells, downregulates ITGA2 (show ITGA2 Proteins) and ITGA6, and contributes to intestinal tumorigenesis
alpha6(high)/CD71 (show TFRC Proteins)(low) cells give rise to a thicker pluristratified epithelium with lower seeding density and display a low Ki67 (show MKI67 Proteins) positive cells number, showing that they have reached the balance between proliferation and differentiation.
The A380T Single Nucleotide Polymorphism of the ITGA6 gene was not associated with breast cancer development in the analyzed population of Misiones, Argentina.
Positive Thy1 (show THY1 Proteins) and CD49f expression is significantly associated with the progression and poor prognosis of chondrosarcoma.
Platelet-enhanced endothelial colony forming cell angiogenesis requires platelet tetraspanin CD151 (show CD151 Proteins) and alpha6beta1 integrin signaling.
these findings identify CD151 (show CD151 Proteins) and its interactions with integrins a3 and a6 as potential therapeutic targets for inhibiting stemness-driving mechanisms and stem cell populations in Glioblastoma.
HIF-dependent regulation of ITGA6 is one mechanism by which sorting for CD49f (+) cells enhances cancer stem cells.
CD49f is a marker of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells and is correlated with changes in these stem cells under inflammatory conditions.
Genetic and Immunohistochemical Expression of Integrins ITGAV (show ITGAV Proteins), ITGA6, and ITGA3 (show ITGA3 Proteins) As Prognostic Factor for Colorectal Cancer
We here identify CD49f and CD34 (show CD34 Proteins) as markers to permit selection of the stem/progenitor cell-like population from human myometrium
formation of CD151 (show CD151 Proteins)-integrin complex was likely to be a prerequisite for CD151 (show CD151 Proteins)-induced angiogenesis and signaling pathways
The ITGA6 protein product is the integrin alpha chain alpha 6. Integrins are integral cell-surface proteins composed of an alpha chain and a beta chain. A given chain may combine with multiple partners resulting in different integrins. For example, alpha 6 may combine with beta 4 in the integrin referred to as TSP180, or with beta 1 in the integrin VLA-6. Integrins are known to participate in cell adhesion as well as cell-surface mediated signalling. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
