The cocrystal structure of ICAP1 in complex with krev (show RAP1B Antibodies) interaction trapped protein (KRIT)1 (show KRIT1 Antibodies) is characterized here.
The structural basis for KRIT1 (show KRIT1 Antibodies) antagonized ICAP1-modulated integrin-beta1 activation.
Annexin A1 (show ANXA1 Antibodies) is associated with gastric cancer survival and promotes gastric cancer cell invasiveness through the formyl peptide receptor/extracellular signal-regulated kinase/integrin beta-1-binding protein 1 pathway.
Identify ICAP1 as a novel regulator to prevent excessive sprouting angiogenesis.
Site-directed mutagenesis showed that Leu(135), Ile(138), and Ile(139) of Icap1 alpha, and Leu(82) and Tyr (show TYR Antibodies)(144), are required for the Icap1 alpha-beta(1) integrin interaction
Integrin-binding protein also interacts with Krit 1 (show KRIT1 Antibodies) protein, cause of CCM1 (show KRIT1 Antibodies). (ICAP-1, integrin cytoplasmic domain-associated protein 1)
beta(1) integrin viability signal in collagen matrices is transduced by focal adhesion kinase
ICAP-1 shuttles between the nucleus and cytoplasm in a beta1 integrin-dependent manner
TNF-alpha (show TNF Antibodies) induced expression of c-IAP1 (show BIRC2 Antibodies) and c-IAP2 (show BIRC3 Antibodies) via MAP kinases, but not via NF-kappaB (show NFKB1 Antibodies), and that MAP kinases participated in the inhibition of apoptosis by induction of c-IAPs in TNF-alpha (show TNF Antibodies)-stimulated endothelial cells
integrin cytoplasmic domain-associated protein-1 alpha (icap1alpha) act concordantly to play a critical role in beta1-integrin-mediated cell proliferation.
The CCM1 (show KRIT1 Antibodies) loss resulted in ICAP-1 destabilization, which increased beta1 integrin activation and led to increased RhoA (show RHOA Antibodies)-dependent contractility.
Data show that phosphorylation of ICAP-1alpha by CaMKII (show CAMK2G Antibodies) controls beta1 integrin activation and cell adhesion.
The ICAP-1 works in concert with kindlin-2 (show FERMT2 Antibodies) to control the dynamics of beta1 integrin-containing fibrillar adhesions and, thereby, regulates fibronectin (show FN1 Antibodies) deposition and osteoblast mineralization.
Live cell imaging, which was performed in both Icap-1-deficient mouse embryonic fibroblasts and cells expressing active beta(1) integrin, shows that the integrin high affinity state favored by talin is antagonistically controlled by ICAP-1.
ICAP-1 regulates beta1 integrin-dependent cell migration by affecting the pattern of focal adhesion formation.
Integrin cytoplasmic domain-associated protein-1 (ICAP-1) binds ROCK to beta1 integrin at the cell membrane (ICAP-1)
ICAP-1 promotes differentiation of osteoprogenitors by supporting their condensation through modulating the integrin high affinity state.
The cytoplasmic domains of integrins are essential for cell adhesion. The protein encoded by this gene binds to the beta1 integrin cytoplasmic domain. The interaction between this protein and beta1 integrin is highly specific. Two isoforms of this protein are derived from alternatively spliced transcripts. The shorter form of this protein does not interact with the beta1 integrin cytoplasmic domain. The longer form is a phosphoprotein and the extent of its phosphorylation is regulated by the cell-matrix interaction, suggesting an important role of this protein during integrin-dependent cell adhesion.
