Cadherin 6 expression in the nascent cortical plate may serve solidification of the protomap for cortical functional areas.
cadherin-6 plays essential roles in locomotor activity and ultrasonic vocalization
role of cadherin 6 as a novel ligand for alpha(IIb)beta(3) and highlights its function in thrombus formation.
Data show that during development, the adhesion molecule (show NCAM1 Proteins) cadherin-6 is expressed by a subset of retinal ganglion cells and also by their targets in the brain.
Cadherin 6 is expressed in the floor and roof plates of the motor columns of the spinal cord.
Results describe the genetic control of Cdh6 expression by systematic integration of a reporter cassette into bacterial artificial chromosomes, with reporter activities evaluated in stable transgenic mouse lines.
These results suggest the role of Cdh6 in coordinating mouse hindbrain compartments possibly under the control of Hox (show MSH2 Proteins) gene regulatory network.
Data indicate that BRAFV600E, P-cadherin and cadherin 6 protein expressions were correlated with one another.
CDH6 is under the control of the transcription factor RUNX2 (show RUNX2 Proteins), which we previously described as a crucial mediator of the Id1 (show ID1 Proteins) pro-invasive function in thyroid tumor cells.
The chromatin modifications were determined at five PRC2 targets commonly underexpressed in multiple myeloma (CIITA (show CIITA Proteins), CXCL12 (show CXCL12 Proteins), GATA2 (show GATA2 Proteins), CDH6 and ICSBP/IRF8 (show IRF8 Proteins)). The selected genes were confirmed to be underexpressed in MM compared to normal plasma cells.
This gene encodes a member of the cadherin superfamily. Cadherins are membrane glycoproteins that mediate homophilic cell-cell adhesion and play critical roles in cell differentiation and morphogenesis. The encoded protein is a type II cadherin and may play a role in kidney development as well as endometrium and placenta formation. Decreased expression of this gene may be associated with tumor growth and metastasis.
