Results suggest that positive expression of CK19 mRNA and TK1 (show TK1 Antibodies) protein is closely correlated with poor prognosis in advanced gastrointestinal cancer.
GPC3 (show GPC3 Antibodies) and KRT19 overexpression are associated with carcinogenesis, progression, and poor prognosis in patients with PDAC and a valuable biomarker for diagnosis of PDAC.
Data show that sixty one patients with a high cytokeratin 19 fragment (CYFRA 21-1) level had statistically shorter progression-free and overall survival than 39 patients with a normal CYFRA 21-1 level .
Data indicate that serum tumor markers showed significant shorter 3-year progression-free survival (PFS) in higher levels compared to lower levels for S-CYFRA 21-1 (cytokeratin 19 fragment), S-SCCA and S-CEA (show CEACAM5 Antibodies).
Gene promoter hypermethylation is found in sentinel lymph nodes of breast cancer patients identified as positive by one-step nucleic acid amplification of cytokeratin 19 mRNA
Peritumoral ductular reaction was more abundant and proliferative in CK19+ hepatocellular carcinoma patients, with higher level of nuclear translocation of beta-catenin (show CTNNB1 Antibodies).
BALF and serum NSE (show ENO2 Antibodies), CEA (show CEACAM5 Antibodies), and CYFRA21.1 elevated in lung cancer, which had prompt value for pathology, especially significant for BALF.
Significant levels of CEA (show CEACAM5 Antibodies), CYFRA 21-1, NSE (show ENO2 Antibodies), and TSGF were detected in the serum. The amounts found were useful for diagnosing non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients who depended on the currently limited biomarker development.
Data show that adipose-derived stem cells (ADSC) differentiate into epithelial-like cells with the expression of epithelial surface marks cytokeratin 18 (show KRT18 Antibodies) and 19 and form tube-like structures.
The cytologic tumor marker c-CYFRA was positively associated with EGFR (show EGFR Antibodies) mutations in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). EGFR (show EGFR Antibodies) mutation-positive NSCLCs have relatively lower glycolysis compared with NSCLCs without EGFR (show EGFR Antibodies) mutation
Demonstrate that K19 plays an important role in the ductular reaction that constitutes the basic regenerative response to chronic liver injury.
Branched desmin (show DES Antibodies)-deficient (DKO) myofibers show significantly faster rates of calcium ion (Ca2 (show CA2 Antibodies)+) clearance, with milder branching phenotype observed in DKO muscle suggesting that absence of keratin-19 corrects the defect created by absence of desmin (show DES Antibodies) alone.
the structural response of each genotype is distinct, suggesting multiple mechanisms by which desmin and keratin influence the biomechanical properties of myofibers
The expression of CK19 and EGFR (show EGFR Antibodies) in lymphatic metastasis of laryngeal carcinoma was higher than in controls.
Results suggest that keratin filaments containing K19- and desmin (show DES Antibodies)-based intermediate filaments can play independent, complementary, or antagonistic roles in the physiology and morphology of fast-twitch skeletal muscle.
a dual mechanism of how PDX-1 (show PDX1 Antibodies) negatively regulates Krt19 ductal specific gene expression
expression of nestin (show NES Antibodies) and cytokeratin 19 is a normal property of embryonic stem cells preceding differentiation into C-peptide/insulin (show INS Antibodies)-producing cells without any selection for nestin (show NES Antibodies)-positive phenotypes
loss of the keratin cytoskeleton causes defects in the trophoblast giant cell layer
transduction of PDX1 (show PDX1 Antibodies) in primary pancreatic ductal cells suppresses K19 expression, and short interfering RNA to PDX1 (show PDX1 Antibodies) in Min6 insulinoma (show RPS15 Antibodies) cells and results in the induction of normally undetectable K19
This is the first demonstration of a mammalian phenotype associated with a genetic perturbation of keratin 19.
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the keratin family. The keratins are intermediate filament proteins responsible for the structural integrity of epithelial cells and are subdivided into cytokeratins and hair keratins. The type I cytokeratins consist of acidic proteins which are arranged in pairs of heterotypic keratin chains. Unlike its related family members, this smallest known acidic cytokeratin is not paired with a basic cytokeratin in epithelial cells. It is specifically expressed in the periderm, the transiently superficial layer that envelopes the developing epidermis. The type I cytokeratins are clustered in a region of chromosome 17q12-q21.
