The protein encoded by KRT85 is a member of the keratin gene family. Additionally we are shipping Keratin 85 Antibodies (8) and and many more products for this protein.
Our study confirms linkage of a variant clinical form of hair-nail (show CD244 ELISA Kits) ectodermal dysplasia to chromosome 12 without any mutation in the coding sequences of the KRTHB5 gene.
crucial role of K85 in keratinization of hair and nails as shown by homozygous mutations in families
Direct evidence relating to the molecular pathogenesis of pure hair-nail (show CD244 ELISA Kits) ectodermal dysplasias with KRTHB5 gene mutation.
Transfected p65 induces transcriptional activation of Hb5.
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the keratin gene family. As a type II hair keratin, it is a basic protein which heterodimerizes with type I keratins to form hair and nails. The type II hair keratins are clustered in a region of chromosome 12q13 and are grouped into two distinct subfamilies based on structure similarity. One subfamily, consisting of KRTHB1, KRTHB3, and KRTHB6, is highly related. The other less-related subfamily includes KRTHB2, KRTHB4, and KRTHB5.
