We suggest that LAIR1 (show LAIR1 Proteins) and LAIR2 genetic variants are associated with regulation of gene expression and variable pemphigus foliaceus (show DSG1 Proteins) susceptibility, and show indirect association of LAIR2 differential mRNA expression with pemphigus foliaceus (show DSG1 Proteins) pathogenesis.
recombinant LAIR-2-Fc inhibits complement-mediated lysis of cells sensitized with anti-HLA antibodies
the presence of high LAIR-2 levels in 74/80 sera from patients with autoimmune thyroid diseases
LAIR2-expressing extravillous trophoblasts associate with maternal spiral arterioles undergoing physiologic conversion
Two markers in two different genes (CNOT3 (show CNOT3 Proteins) and LAIR2) showed significant association with ankylosing spondylitis.
LAIR-2/Fc has the capacity to interfere with platelet-collagen interactions mediated by Glycoprotein VI and the VWF (show VWF Proteins)/Glycoprotein Ib axis.
LAIR-2 prevents binding of human LAIR-1 (show LAIR1 Proteins) to collagens and LAIR-1 (show LAIR1 Proteins) cross-linking in vitro, suggesting that the protein has an immunoregulatory function in vivo.
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. It was identified by its similarity to LAIR1, an inhibitory receptor present on mononuclear leukocytes. This gene maps to a region of 19q13.4, termed the leukocyte receptor cluster, which contains 29 genes in the immunoglobulin superfamily, including LAIR1. The function of this protein is unknown, although it is thought to be secreted and may help modulate mucosal tolerance. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
