A novel TACGC risk haplotype in the LRP8 gene that is present in patients with CAD (show CAD Antibodies) and MI but not in normal controls.
results of this study demonstrated the presence of reelin (show RELN Antibodies), its receptors VLDLR (show VLDLR Antibodies) and ApoER2 as well as Dab1 (show DAB1 Antibodies) in the ENS and might indicate a novel role of the reelin (show RELN Antibodies) system in regulating neuronal plasticity and pre-synaptic functions in the ENS.

ectopic expression of HIC1 (show HIC1 Antibodies) in U2OS and MDA-MB-231 cell lines decreases expression of the ApoER2 and VLDLR (show VLDLR Antibodies) genes, encoding two canonical tyrosine kinase (show TXK Antibodies) receptors for Reelin (show RELN Antibodies).

the differential expression patterns of LRP8 mRNA during final follicular growth and ovulation
This gene encodes a member of the low density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR) family. Low density lipoprotein receptors are cell surface proteins that play roles in both signal transduction and receptor-mediated endocytosis of specific ligands for lysosomal degradation. The encoded protein plays a critical role in the migration of neurons during development by mediating Reelin signaling, and also functions as a receptor for the cholesterol transport protein apolipoprotein E. Expression of this gene may be a marker for major depressive disorder. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene.
