Expression of LT alpha and beta on acinar cells in mice led to chronic pancreatitis and sufficed to reproduce key features of human autoimmune pancreatitis including the development of autoimmunity and AIP (show AIP Antibodies) associated secondary extra pancreatic pathologies.
These data demonstrate that lymphotoxin (show LTB Antibodies)-expressing cells, such as Th1 (show HAND1 Antibodies) cells, mediate stromal keratitis.
TNFalpha (show TNF Antibodies) and LTalpha mediate post-myocardial infarction cardiac dysfunction via TNFR1 (show TNFRSF1A Antibodies) stimulation, whereas TNFR2 (show TNFRSF1B Antibodies) activation is cardioprotective against ischemic injury.
findings show that soluble lymphotoxin alpha (sLTalpha3) produced by RORgammat(+) innate lymphoid cells controls T cell-dependent IgA induction in the lamina propria via regulation of T cell homing to the gut (show GUSB Antibodies)
Data suggest that among many cytokines increased after myocardial ischemia/reperfusion (MI/R), lymphotoxin-alpha (Lta) is the only cytokine remaining elevated 24-72 h after reperfusion; LTa appears to suppress adiponectin expression following MI/R.
study reports that mice deficient in lymphotoxin (show LTB Antibodies), a key molecule in gut (show GUSB Antibodies) immunity, were resistant to diet-induced obesity
Data from lymphotoxin-alpha knockout mice suggest that lymphotoxin-alpha contributes to diet-induced weight gain and adiposity (leading to obesity) and is required to modulate accumulation of immune cells in adipose tissue (as in obesity).
Grafts deficient in lymphotoxin-alpha have an attenuated capacity to induce graft-versus-host disease.
Our findings suggest a contribution of lymphotoxin alpha in the control of chronic M. tuberculosis infection.
The organogenesis of nasal-associated lymphoid tissue (NALT) occurs independently of lymphotoxin alpha; however, the organization and recruitment of lymphocytes within NALT are dependent on LT alpha.
the present study suggests LTa +252G as a risk alleles for disease susceptibility associated with higher serum levels of LTa and concomitant discrete clinical features among Indian systemic lupus erythematosus patients in India
this study shows that TNF (show TNF Antibodies)-b is elevated in wound exudates of patients with hidradenitis suppurativa
LTA -804C/A gene polymorphism is not found to be associated with the susceptibility of ischemic stroke in both Asian as well as in Caucasian population.
After multivariable analysis TNF-alpha (show TNF Antibodies) polymorphism showed no consistent association with leukemia. CONCLUSIONS: This meta-analysis suggests that the LT-alpha +252 AA polymorphism is associated with the risk of leukemia
Tumor Necrosis Factor (show TNF Antibodies) and Lymphotoxin (show LTB Antibodies) in Regulation of Intestinal Inflammation.
joint effects of these CRP, TNF-alpha, and LTA risk alleles with physical inactivity in elders were observed, suggesting that physical activity may modulate effects of genotypes on handgrip strength.
No association was found between two promoter variants of TNF and LTA, and diabetic retinopathy in a large cohort of Caucasian patients with type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes
Polymorphism +252 LT gene did not show any significant association with COPD (show ARCN1 Antibodies).
TNFB+252G/A was associated with presence of immune thrombocytopenia.
LTA polymorphism is associated with genetic susceptibility of systemic lupus in Asians, but not in rheumatoid arthritis.
The encoded protein, a member of the tumor necrosis factor family, is a cytokine produced by lymphocytes. The protein is highly inducible, secreted, and forms heterotrimers with lymphotoxin-beta which anchor lymphotoxin-alpha to the cell surface. This protein also mediates a large variety of inflammatory, immunostimulatory, and antiviral responses, is involved in the formation of secondary lymphoid organs during development and plays a role in apoptosis. Genetic variations in this gene are associated with susceptibility to leprosy type 4, myocardial infarction, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, and psoriatic arthritis. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been observed for this gene.
