PANK1 encodes a member of the pantothenate kinase family. Additionally we are shipping PANK1 Antibodies (69) and PANK1 Proteins (7) and many more products for this protein.
Arabidopsis has two functional type-II pantothenate kinases with overlapping activity. AtPANK1 is a monofunctional enzyme that has a single type-II antothenate kinase domain. [PANK1]
p53 (show TP53 ELISA Kits) plays an important role in regulating energy homeostasis through transcriptional control of PANK1.
PANK deficiency leads to abnormalities in F-actin organization.
molecular cloning and characterization of a new human PanK gene
PPARalpha transcription factor as a major factor governing hepatic CoA levels by specific modulation of PANK1alpha gene expression
analysis of the homodimeric structures of the catalytic cores of PanK1alpha and PanK3 (show PANK3 ELISA Kits) in complex with acetyl-CoA (show LPCAT2 ELISA Kits) and the the structural effects of the PanK2 (show PANK2 ELISA Kits) mutations that have been implicated in neurodegeneration
Pank1 genetic deficiency can be corrected using phosphopantothenate diet replacement therapy.
The results indicate that Pank1 deficiency drives a whole-body metabolic adaptation that improves aspects of the diabetic phenotype and uncouples hyperglycaemia and hyperinsulinaemia from obesity in leptin (show LEP ELISA Kits)-deficient mice.
The data indicate that PanK1 and PanK2 can compensate for each other to supply tissue CoA.
data illustrate the importance of PanK1 and elevated liver CoA levels during fasting to support the metabolic transition from glucose utilization and fatty acid synthesis to gluconeogenesis and fatty acid oxidation
This gene encodes a member of the pantothenate kinase family. Pantothenate kinases are key regulatory enzymes in the biosynthesis of coenzyme A (CoA). The encoded protein catalyzes the first and rate-limiting enzymatic reaction in CoA biosynthesis and is regulated by CoA through feedback inhibition. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene. This gene and an intronic miRNA on the same strand are co-regulated by the tumor suppressor p53 (see PMID 20833636).
