Spinophilin (show PPP1R9B Antibodies) was identified as an RGS8-interacting protein.
the crystal structure of RGS8 was determined in complex with Galphaq (show GNAQ Antibodies).
ATXN2 (show ATXN2 Antibodies) interacted selectively with RGS8 mRNA. This interaction was impaired when ATXN2 (show ATXN2 Antibodies) harbored an expanded polyglutamine. Mutant ATXN2 (show ATXN2 Antibodies) also reduced RGS8 expression in an in vitro coupled translation
increased miR (show MLXIP Antibodies)-150 levels in Spinocerebellar ataxia (show USP14 Antibodies) type 1 Purkinje neurons may modulate disease pathogenesis by targeting the expression of Rgs8 and Vegfa (show VEGFA Antibodies).
RGS8 null mutant mice were viable, fertile and showed apparently normal development
This gene is a member of the regulator of G protein signaling (RGS) family and encodes a protein with a single RGS domain. Regulator of G protein signaling (RGS) proteins are regulatory and structural components of G protein-coupled receptor complexes. They accelerate transit through the cycle of GTP binding and hydrolysis to GDP, thereby terminating signal transduction, but paradoxically, also accelerate receptor-stimulated activation.
