Stearoyl-CoA desaturase (SCD\; EC 188.8.131.52) is an integral membrane protein of the endoplasmic reticulum that catalyzes the formation of monounsaturated fatty acids from saturated fatty acids. Additionally we are shipping Stearoyl-CoA Desaturase 5 Antibodies (28) and and many more products for this protein.
SCD5 appears to functionally connect tumour cells and the surrounding stroma toward modification of the tumour microenvironment, with consequences on tumour spread and resistance to treatment.
The protective effect of TO901317 was lost after gene silencing of Scd-1 (show SCD ELISA Kits)/-2, thereby confirming that the protective effect of TO901317 is mediated by Scd-1 (show SCD ELISA Kits)/-2.
Data suggest that, by a coordinated modulation of key lipogenic pathways and transduction signaling cascades, SCD5 participates in the regulation of neuronal cell growth and differentiation.
SCD4 (show SCD4 ELISA Kits) demonstrates tissue-specific regulation by leptin (show LEP ELISA Kits) and dietary factors
The identification and characterization of SCD2, and its relationship to human SCD1 and mouse SCD2, are reported.
In this paper, we describe for the first time a second SCD (show SCD ELISA Kits) isoform in cattle, which appears to be an ortholog of human SCD5 rather than a homolog of bovine SCD1 (show SCD ELISA Kits) or any of the described murine SCD (show SCD ELISA Kits) isoforms
This is the first study examining a potential role for SCD5 in providing 18:1n-9 for brain lipids.
This is the first report of potential regulators of SCD5 transcription.
Stearoyl-CoA desaturase (SCD\; EC 184.108.40.206) is an integral membrane protein of the endoplasmic reticulum that catalyzes the formation of monounsaturated fatty acids from saturated fatty acids. SCD may be a key regulator of energy metabolism with a role in obesity and dislipidemia. Four SCD isoforms, Scd1 through Scd4, have been identified in mouse. In contrast, only 2 SCD isoforms, SCD1 (MIM 604031) and SCD5, have been identified in human. SCD1 shares about 85% amino acid identity with all 4 mouse SCD isoforms, as well as with rat Scd1 and Scd2. In contrast, SCD5 shares limited homology with the rodent SCDs and appears to be unique to primates (Wang et al., 2005
