Human Transmembrane Protein 173 (TMEM173) interaction partners

  1. Studies suggest that the transmembrane protein 173 (STING) pathway is the main innate immune pathway involved in sensing of tumors, and its endogenous activation in APCs (show APCS Proteins) leads to subsequent T cell priming against tumor-associated antigens.

  2. A STING-dependent, cGAS-independent pathway important for full interferon (show IFNA Proteins) production and antiviral control of enveloped RNA viruses.

  3. Studies indicate that the STING (stimulator of interferon (show IFNA Proteins) genes)-controlled innate immune pathway has provided insight for treating autoinflammatory disease and cancer.

  4. This study demonstrates that E2 proteins of high risk human papillomavirus reduce STING and IFN-kappa transcription.

  5. Results reveal a critical role of STING in regulating dsDNA-triggered activation of the JAK1 (show JAK1 Proteins)-STAT1 (show STAT1 Proteins) signaling in B cells and highlight the close associations of STING low-expression with JAK1 (show JAK1 Proteins)-STAT1 (show STAT1 Proteins) signaling in systemic lupus erythematosus B cells.

  6. Data identifies a single amino acid change in STING that leads to its constitutive activation of downstream signaling, by increasing its propensity to dimerize and associate with TBK1 (show TBK1 Proteins).

  7. findings demonstrate a novel regulatory circuit in which STING and TBK1 (show TBK1 Proteins) reciprocally regulate each other to enable efficient antiviral signaling activation, and PPM1A (show PPM1A Proteins) dephosphorylates STING and TBK1 (show TBK1 Proteins)

  8. STING(sv) inhibited the activity of the interferon (show IFNA Proteins) (IFN)-beta (show IFNB1 Proteins) promoter.

  9. Cyclic GMP (show NT5C2 Proteins)-AMP (show APRT Proteins), but not its linkage isomers, adopts an organized free-ligand conformation that resembles the STING-bound conformation and pays low entropy and enthalpy costs in converting into the active conformation.

  10. stimulation of STING-dependent IRF3 (show IRF3 Proteins) activation by UV is due to apoptotic signaling-dependent disruption of ULK1 (Unc51 (show ULK1 Proteins)-like kinase 1), a pro-autophagic protein that negatively regulates STING

Mouse (Murine) Transmembrane Protein 173 (TMEM173) interaction partners

  1. Data show that the formation of a tripartite ribosomal protein S6 kinase 1 (S6K1 (show RPS6KB1 Proteins))-STING membrane protein-TANK-binding kinase 1 (TBK1 (show TBK1 Proteins)) complex was necessary for the activation of interferon regulatory factor-3 (IRF3 (show IRF3 Proteins)).

  2. Sting protein role in the innate immune response and interferon (show IFNA Proteins)-stimulated genes response pathway

  3. required for chitosan-mediated enhancement of antigen specific Th1 (show HAND1 Proteins) and immunoglobulin G2 responses following vaccination

  4. in vitro activation of the AIM2 (show AIM2 Proteins) inflammasome in murine macrophages and dendritic cells leads to reduced activation of the STING pathway, in part through promoting caspase-1 (show CASP1 Proteins)-dependent cell death.

  5. A STING-dependent, cGAS-independent pathway important for full interferon (show IFNA Proteins) production and antiviral control of enveloped RNA viruses.

  6. the G37S mutation of RNaseH2 led to increased expression of interferon (show IFNA Proteins)-stimulated genes dependent on the cGAS-STING signaling pathway.

  7. enforced activation of STING by intratumoral injection of cyclic dinucleotide GMP (show NT5C2 Proteins)-AMP (show TMPRSS5 Proteins) (cGAMP), potently enhanced antitumor CD8 (show CD8A Proteins) T responses.

  9. findings demonstrate a novel regulatory circuit in which STING and TBK1 (show TBK1 Proteins) reciprocally regulate each other to enable efficient antiviral signaling activation, and PPM1A (show PPM1A Proteins) dephosphorylates STING and TBK1 (show TBK1 Proteins)

  10. c-di-GMP (show NT5C2 Proteins) comprehensively regulated both HSPCs and their niche cells through an innate immune sensor, STING, thereby inducing entry into the cell cycle and mobilization of HSPCs

TMEM173 Protein Profile

Protein Summary

Facilitator of innate immune signaling that promotes the production of type I interferon (IFN-alpha and IFN-beta). Innate immune response is triggered in response to non-CpG double- stranded DNA from viruses and bacteria delivered to the cytoplasm. Able to activate both NF-kappa-B and IRF3 transcription pathways to induce expression of type I interferon and exert a potent anti- viral state following expression. May be involved in translocon function, the translocon possibly being able to influence the induction of type I interferons. May be involved in transduction of apoptotic signals via its association with the major histocompatibility complex class II (MHC-II). Mediates death signaling via activation of the extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) pathway.
