UBQLN1 encodes an ubiquitin-like protein (ubiquilin) that shares a high degree of similarity with related products in yeast, rat and frog. Additionally we are shipping Ubiquilin 1 Antibodies (88) and Ubiquilin 1 Kits (4) and many more products for this protein.

Results suggest that ubiquilin-1 may mechanistically participate in Alzheimer's disease molecular pathogenesis by affecting BACE1 (show BACE Proteins) and thereby APP (show APP Proteins) processing and Abeta (show APP Proteins) accumulation
The expression level of UBQLN1 and prognosis in breast cancer is clarified for the first time and UBQLN1 seems to be a novel molecular marker to predict poor prognosis in breast cancer.
Chloroquine derivative D5 downregulates presenilin expression via the inhibition of ubiquilin 1 expression.
found that ZEB1 is required for induction of mesenchymal-like properties following loss of UBQLN1 and ZEB1 is capable of repressing expression of UBQLN1
High UBQLN1 expression is associated with low radiosensitivity in breast cancer.
Ubiquilin-1 immunoreactivity is concentrated on Hirano bodies and dystrophic neurites in Alzheimer's disease
Human ubiquilin-1 overexpression in transgenic mice increases the lifespan and delays accumulation of Huntingtin (show HTT Proteins) aggregates in the R6/2 mouse model of Huntington's disease.
The results demonstrate that in Alzheimer's disease hippocampus, ubiquilin-1 immunoreactivity increases in the neuronal nucleoplasm and is associated with region-specific neurofibrillary changes.
results were confirmed by similar findings for ubiquilin-1 and -2 in human brain tissue sections, where accumulation was observed in huntingtin (show HTT Proteins) inclusions
Targeting of Ubqln1 to autophagosomes requires the Ubqln4 (show UBQLN4 Proteins) UBL domain and the Ubqln1 UBA domain.
propose a model in which UBQLN1 recognizes Mycobacterium tuberculosis and in turn recruits the autophagy machinery thereby promoting intracellular control of Mycobacterium tuberculosis
Interactions between UBQLN1 and SPEM1 suggest a role in the regulation of protein ubiquitination during spermiogenesis.
UBQLN1-transfected cells did not show increased starvation-induced cell death
Described results suggest that ubiquilin proteins play an important role in regulating presenilin 2 (PS2 (show PSEN2 Proteins)) protein levels in cells.
This gene encodes an ubiquitin-like protein (ubiquilin) that shares a high degree of similarity with related products in yeast, rat and frog. Ubiquilins contain an N-terminal ubiquitin-like domain and a C-terminal ubiquitin-associated domain. They physically associate with both proteasomes and ubiquitin ligases, and thus are thought to functionally link the ubiquitination machinery to the proteasome to affect in vivo protein degradation. This ubiquilin has also been shown to modulate accumulation of presenilin proteins, and it is found in lesions associated with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
