WFDC1 encodes a member of the WAP-type four disulfide core domain family. Additionally we are shipping WFDC1 Antibodies (65) and WFDC1 Proteins (7) and many more products for this protein.

refined the localization of the MOD locus to a 1.0-Mb interval by haplotype analysis, and found a one-nucleotide insertion in the WFDC1 gene, which resulted in a frame shift mutation and premature termination codon, causing Multiple ocular defects
HIV-1 virus transfer among primary CD4 (show CD4 ELISA Kits)+ T-lymphocytes was promoted by ectopic ps20 expression or by exogenous addition of recombinant ps20.
results suggest a minor role, if any, of WFDC1 in hepatocarcinogenesis
WFDC1/ps20 is down regulated but not frequently mutated in prostate cancer. It is expressed predominantly in the normal prostatic stroma. It might play a role in the maintenance of the normal extra cellular matrix milieu in the prostate.
ps20 promoted HIV entry via fusion and augmented CD54 (show ICAM1 ELISA Kits) integrin expression
our data suggest an important role for WFDC1 in inhibiting proliferation of both tumors and senescent cells
suggests that the tumor suppressive function of WFDC1 may be partially a result of up-regulated Dkk1 (show DKK1 ELISA Kits) gene expression, which is known to be a potent inhibitor of the Wnt (show WNT2 ELISA Kits) signaling pathway
WFDC1/ps20 modulates core host response mechanisms, in part, via regulation of osteopontin (show SPP1 ELISA Kits) and MMP-9 (show MMP9 ELISA Kits) activity. Release from WFDC1 regulation is likely a key component of inflammatory and repair response mechanisms.
These data suggest roles for ps20 in regulating expression of neutrophil-specific chemotactic factors, thereby potentially modulating neutrophil migration, and in modulating neutrophil susceptibility to murine hepatitis virus -1 infection.
ps20 may be a TGF-beta1 (show TGFB1 ELISA Kits)-induced regulator of angiogenesis that functions by either promoting endothelial cell migration or by contributing to pericyte stabilization of newly formed vascular structures.
This gene encodes a member of the WAP-type four disulfide core domain family. The WAP-type four-disulfide core domain, or WAP signature motif, contains eight cysteines forming four disulfide bonds at the core of the protein, and functions as a protease inhibitor in many family members. The encoded protein shares 81% amino acid identity with the rat ps20 protein, which was originally identified as a secreted growth inhibitor. This gene is mapped to chromosome 16q24, an area of frequent loss of heterozygosity in cancers, including prostate, breast and hepatocellular cancers and Wilms' tumor. Owing to its location and a possible growth inhibitory property of its gene product, this gene is suggested to be a tumor suppressor gene.
