Wnt5b activated known calcium-dependent signaling pathways and JNK (show MAPK8 Antibodies), a component of the planar cell polarity pathway.
Secreted Wnt (show WNT2 Antibodies) glycoproteins, expressed by thymic epithelial cells and thymocytes, regulate epithelial Foxn1 (show FOXN2 Antibodies) expression in both autocrine and paracrine fashions. Wnt (show WNT2 Antibodies) molecules therefore provide regulatory signals critical for thymic function.
Data indicate that Wnt5a (show WNT5A Antibodies) and Wnt5b control the pace of transitions between different chondrocyte zones.
Wnt5b may promote adipogenesis in 3T3-L1 cells, at least in part, by antagonizing the canonical Wnt (show WNT2 Antibodies)/beta-catenin (show CTNNB1 Antibodies) pathway
hCG (show CGA Antibodies) was found to up-regulate these wnt (show WNT2 Antibodies) ligands in mouse mammary gland, independent of the changes in ovarian steroidogenesis
this study aimed at defining the expression profile and function of Wnt5a (show WNT5A Antibodies) and Wnt5b during adipogenesis by determining their effect on aP2 (show TFAP2A Antibodies) and PPARgamma (show PPARG Antibodies) expression and assessing the level of beta-catenin (show CTNNB1 Antibodies) translocation in mouse 3T3-L1 preadipocytes.
Together these findings provide important and novel insights into the role of canonical Wnt (show WNT2 Antibodies) signals during the patterning of vertebrate ectoderm and indicate that Wnt (show WNT2 Antibodies) inhibition plays a central role in the process of neural induction.
The interaction between Wnt (show WNT2 Antibodies) isoforms and their LRP6 (show LRP6 Antibodies) cognate receptor depends on the jutting loop present in Wnt3a (show WNT3A Antibodies) but absent in Wnt5b.
Results demonstrate that the Wnt5B pathway may play an important role in atypical teratoid rhabdoid tumor biology.
Report increased Wnt5b levels in adriamycin treated liver cancer stem cells within 4h of treatment.
This study shows that the WNT5B germline variant rs2010851 was significantly identified as a stage-dependent prognostic marker for CC patients after 5-fluorouracil-based adjuvant therapy.
WNT5B is elevated in both in the tumor and the patients' serum from triple negative breast cancer.
Knocking down Wnt5b expression reduced phospho-PKCA (show PKCa Antibodies) levels and cell migration.
Ursolic acid suppressed the expression of Wnt5alpha/beta and beta-catenin (show CTNNB1 Antibodies), inducing apoptosis in prostate cancer cells.
These results indicate that Wnt5b is involved in the migration ability of OSCC cells through active Cdc42 (show CDC42 Antibodies) and RhoA (show RHOA Antibodies).
WNT3 (show WNT3 Antibodies) and WNT5B are critical factors, secreted from mesenchymal cancer cells, for instigating the epithelial cancer cell invasion.
TGF-beta (show TGFB1 Antibodies)/Smad (show SMAD1 Antibodies), integrin/integrin-linked kinase (ILK (show ILK Antibodies)) and wnt (show WNT2 Antibodies)/beta-catenin (show CTNNB1 Antibodies) signaling pathways are involved in epithelial to mesenchymal transition in human renal fibrogenesis.
In embryos overexpressing lbx1b (show Lbx1 Antibodies), wnt5b, a ligand of the non-canonical Wnt (show WNT2 Antibodies)/planar cell polarity (PCP (show PRCP Antibodies)) pathway, was significantly downregulated.
Swap70b and Def6a (show DEF6 Antibodies) delineate Wnt11 (show WNT11 Antibodies) and Wnt5b signalling pathways and have roles in convergent and extension cell movement during zebrafish gastrulation
CNBP (show CNBP Antibodies) up-regulates tbx2b and smarca5 (show SMARCA5 Antibodies), and down-regulates wnt5b gene expression.
def6 (show DEF6 Antibodies) morphants phenocopy Wnt5b mutants and ectopic overexpression of def6 (show DEF6 Antibodies) essentially rescues Wnt5b morphants, indicating a novel role for def6 (show DEF6 Antibodies) as a central GEF (show SLC2A4RG Antibodies) downstream of Wnt5b signaling
identify rgs3 (show RGS3 Antibodies) as having an overlapping expression pattern with wnt5b in zebrafish and reveal that individual knockdown of either rgs3 (show RGS3 Antibodies) or wnt5b gene function produces similar somite patterning defects.
Data suggest that full-length Ryk (show RYK Antibodies) conveys Wnt5b signals in a directional manner during gastrulation.
Data suggest that the Wnt-5 loss-of-function defect is consistent with calcium modulation having an antagonistic interaction with Wnt (show WNT2 Antibodies)/beta-catenin (show CTNNB1 Antibodies) signaling.
conserved role of a Wnt5 (show WNT5A Antibodies)/Fz2 (show FZD2 Antibodies) signaling pathway in islet formation during pancreatic development.
The WNT gene family consists of structurally related genes which encode secreted signaling proteins. These proteins have been implicated in oncogenesis and in several developmental processes, including regulation of cell fate and patterning during embryogenesis. This gene is a member of the WNT gene family. It encodes a protein which shows 94% and 80% amino acid identity to the mouse Wnt5b protein and the human WNT5A protein, respectively. Alternative splicing of this gene generates 2 transcript variants.
