GGT5 is a member of a gene family that encodes gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase enzymes. Additionally we are shipping GGT5 Antibodies (29) and GGT5 Kits (7) and many more products for this protein.

Formation of LTD4 was rapid when catalyzed by gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase (GGT)1 (show GGT1 Proteins) in the A549 epithelial lung cancer cell line, but considerably slower when catalyzed by GGT5 in primary bronchial epithelial cells. When A549 cells were cultured in the presence of IL-1beta (show IL1B Proteins), GGT1 (show GGT1 Proteins) expression increased about 2-fold. Also exosomes from A549 cells contained GGT1 (show GGT1 Proteins) and augmented LTD4 formation.
Report different pattern of expression of GGT1 (show GGT1 Proteins) and GGT5 in normal human tissues.
There is a significant association of GGT (show GGT1 Proteins) with individual metabolic syndrome components, except HDL (show HSD11B1 Proteins) and inflammatory parameters (hs-CRP (show CRP Proteins), ferritin (show FTL Proteins)).
GGT5/oxidative stress cascade plays a central role during luteinizing hormone-stimulated steroidogenesis.
This gene is a member of a gene family that encodes gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase enzymes. This enzyme consists of a heavy and a light chain, and is able to hydrolyze the gamma-glutamyl moiety of glutathione. It converts leukotriene C4 to leukotriene D4, however, it doesn't convert synthetic substrates that are commonly used to assay gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
