Immunogen Rabbit polyclol ARC antibody was raised against a peptide corresponding to amino acids 191 to 208 of human origin .
Isotype IgG
Purification Affinity chromatography purified via peptide column.
Background Apoptosis is regulated by death domain (DD) and/or caspase recruitment domain (CARD) containing molecules and a caspase family of proteases. CARD domain containing cell death regulators include RAIDD, Apaf-1, caspase-9, and caspase-2. A novel CARD domain containing protein was recently identified and designated ARC for apoptosis repressor with CARD . ARC interacts with caspase-2 and –8 and inhibits enzymatic activity of caspase-8. ARC suppresses apoptosis induced by cell death adapters FADD and TRADD and by cell death receptors Fas, TNFR-1 and DR3. The messenger RNA of ARC is primarily expressed in skeletal muscle and cardiac tissue.
Application Notes ARC antibody is human-specific and can be used for detection of ARC by Western blot at 1:1000 dilution. (Optimal dilution should be determined by user.) Whole cell lysate from HeLa cells can be used as positive control and an approximately 25 kDa band can be detected. ARC antibody can also be used to detect ARC by immunohistochemistry at 5 µg/ml. Antibody can also be used for ELISA and might be suited for other applications not tested so far.
Restrictions For Research Use only
Format Liquid
Buffer Antibody is supplied in PBS containing 0.02% sodium azide.
Preservative Sodium azide
Precaution of Use This product contains sodium azide: a POISONOUS AND HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCE which should be handled by trained staff only.
Handling Advice Antibody can be stored at 4ºC, stable for one year. As with all antibodies care should be taken to avoid repeated freeze thaw cycles. Antibodies should not be exposed to prolonged high temperatures. During shipment, small volumes of antibody will occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial. For products with volumes of 200 myl or less, we recommend gently tapping the vial on a hard surface or briefly centrifuging the vial in a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container’s cap.
Storage 4 °C
Expiry Date 12 months
