    Specificity
    IgM (H&L)
Mouse IgM antibody recognizes the mu chain of the Mouse IgM. Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Biotin, anti-Rabbit Serum, Mouse IgM and Mouse Serum. ELISA was used to confirm specificity at less than 1 % cross reactivity against other mouse heavy or light chain isotypes.
    Characteristics
Anti-Mouse IgM antibody is ideal with investigators involved in serum component protein research.
Concentration Definition: by UV absorbance at 280 nm
    Purification
Anti-MOUSE IgM (H&L) (GOAT) Antibody is an IgG fraction antibody purified from monospecific antiserum by a multi-step process which includes delipidation, salt fractionation and ion exchange chromatography followed by extensive dialysis against the buffer stated above.  Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Goat Serum, Mouse IgM and Mouse Serum.  Some light chain cross reactivity may occur against Mouse IgG.

  • Application Notes

    Immunohistochemistry Dilution: 1:1,000 - 1:5,000

Application Note: Anti-Mouse IgM (mu chain) (GOAT) Antibody has been assayed against Mouse IgM in a standard capture ELISA using Peroxidase Conjugated Streptavidin. A working dilution of 1:15,000 to 1:70,000 of the concentration is suggested for this product. Mouse IgM antibody is suitable for immunoassays including western blot and ELISA.

    Background

Synonyms: Mouse antibody, goat anti mouse, IgM, immunoglobulin fraction, goat anti-mouse IgM antibody

Background: Anti-Mouse IgM antibody specifically detects mouse IgM. Immunoglobulin M is the largest antibody isotype and the first to be secreted against an initial exposure to antigen. IgM is predominantly produced in the spleen. Formed from covalently linking 5 immunoglobulins together, the approximate molecular weight of IgM is 900 kDa and possesses 10 binding sites (though due to the size of most antigens, not all sites are capable of binding at once). Due to this large size, IgM is typically isolated to the serum. Anti-Mouse IgM antibody is ideal for investigators in Immunology, Microbiology, and Cell Biology.
