Additional Information » anti-Matrix Metalloproteinase 1 (MMP1) antibody
| Antigen | Matrix Metalloproteinase 1 (MMP1) |
| Immunogen | A synthetic peptide from the middle region of the human MMP-1. |
| Reactivity | Human |
| Clonality | Polyclonal |
| Format | Ig Fraction, Purified |
| Host | Rabbit |
| Specificity | This antibody reacts with a 52 kD protein (unglycosylated) and 57 kD (glycosylated) species of pro form of MMP-1 as well as 42 kD (unglycosylated) and 47 kD (glycosylated) active form of MMP-1. Matrix metalloproteinase (MMPs) are a family of closely related zinc-containing proteolytic enzymes, capable of degrading connective tissue components. MMP-1 appears to be associated with facilitating the tumor spread and invasion of esophageal and colorectal cancers and is associated with poor prognosis. Interstitial collagenase (MMP-1), 73 kD gelatinase A/type IV collagenase (MMP-2) and 92 kD gelatinase B/type IV collagenase (MMP-9) dissolve extracellular matrix and may initiate and promote angiogenesis. |

| Application Notes | Titer/Working Dilution: This antibody may be diluted to a titer of 1:25-1:50 in an ABC method. However, depending on the staining conditions employed, we suggest that final dilution should be determined by the user. Staining Protocol: We suggest an incubation period of 30 minutes at room temperature. However, depending upon the fixation conditions and the staining system employed, optimal incubation conditions should be determined by the user. Formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue sections require high temperature antigen unmasking with 10 mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 prior to immunostaining. Positive Control: Placenta. Cellular localization: Cytoplasmic |
| Concentration | 100ug/ml approximately |
| Buffer | Purified immunoglobulin fraction of rabbit antiserum against MMP-1 containing sodium azide as preservative. |
| Storage | Store the antibody at 2-8o c. Do not use it beyond the expiration date stated on the label. |
| Research Area | Extracellular Matrix |
| Restrictions | For Research Use. CE-certified for In Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) Use in the European Union |
