Purpose For biochemical analysis of RFP-tagged fusion proteins.
Clone 3F5
Isotype IgG2a
Specificity 3F5 efficiently recognizes monomeric red fluorescent proteins from Discosoma sp. derived from DsRed such as mRFP, mCherry or mPlum but no green fluorescent proteins.
Tested on mRFP, mCherry, mPlum, mOrange, tdTomato, DsRed
Sensitivity Sensitivity of mouse RFP antibody 3F5 goes down to 10 ng of purified RFP protein.
Characteristics Use this mouse monoclonal antibody (MAb) against monomeric RFPs, designated as RFP antibody [3F5]. The 3F5 MAb is characterized by high affinity and specificity against the DsRed derivatives and corresponding fusion proteins. It is suitable for immunoblotting assays.
Purification Hybridoma supernatant. The Hybridoma cultured in protein free medium. Tissue culture supernatant was concentrated by centrifugation using a 30 kDa exclusion membrane to an antibody concentration of 1 mg/ml.
Alternative Name RFP (RFP Antibody Abstract)
Background Fluorescent proteins (FP) are powerful tools to study protein localization and dynamics in living cells. In addition to the prominent green fluorescent protein (GFP) from Aequorea victoria, a red fluorescent protein (DsRed) was discovered in the coral Discosoma sp. Mutagenesis of the red progenitor have resulted in several monomeric red FPs (mRFP1, mCherry, mOrange, mPlum, etc.) which became attractive tools for a number of applications.
