Immunogen Synthetic peptide corresponding to residues 41-54pf the bcl-2 protein, conjugated to thyroglobulin.
Clone BL-2
Isotype IgG1
Specificity This antibody reacts to BCL2.
Purification Affinity chromatography
Alternative Name Bcl-2 (BCL2 Antibody Abstract)
Background Immunoreactive BCL2 protein in the neoplastic cells of almost all follicular lymphomas whereas no BCL2 protein was detected in follicles affected by nonneoplastic processes or in normal lymphoid tissue. Every tumor with molecular-genetic evidence of t(14,18) translocation expressed detectable levels of BCL2 protein, regardless of whether the breakpoint was located in or at a distance from the BCL2 gene. Overexpression of BCL2 blocks the apoptotic death of a pro-B-lymphocyte cell line.Synonyms: Apoptosis regulator Bcl-2, B-Cell CLL/lymphoma 2, BCL2, Bcl-2 alpha
Gene ID 596
NCBI Accession NP_000624
UniProt P10415
Research Area Cancer, Apoptosis/Necrosis
Pathways MAPK Signaling, PI3K-Akt Signaling, Apoptosis, Caspase Cascade in Apoptosis
Application Notes Optimal working dilution should be determined by the investigator.
