Description: ACTH occurs in cells of the anterior pituitary and in neurons in brain. It regulates thecorticosteroid production in the adrenal cortex. Beta endorphin and Met enkephalin areendogenous opiates. MSH (melanocyte stimulating hormone) increases the pigmentationof skin by increasing melanin production in melanocytes.

Specificity: Specific for Synacthen (1-24 ACTH). Reacts with ACTH (a. a. 1-17) and does not cross-react with CLIP (ACTH 17-39). Reacts lower than 1% with Insulin, KLH and BSA. Species: Human. Cross-reacts with Rat N-terminal ACTH. Others not tested. Affinity Constant: 1 x 10e11

Application Notes: ELISAImmunohistochemistry on Formalin Fixed Paraffin Sections (5 µg/ml). Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
