Specificity
Reacts with the highly conserved heptapeptide repeat of the largest subunit of EukaryoticRNA polymerase II. It inhibits promoter-directed transcription, but it does not inhibit elongation in thenonspecific transcription assay. S. cerevisiae. Species: Human, bovine, mouse and xenopus. Others not tested.

Application Notes
Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Western blot andDetection of unproteolyzed RNA polymerase II. Inhibit specific transcription from class II promoters. As a polyol-responsive antibody it can be used in gentle purifications of RNA polymerase IIfrom wheat germ, calf thymus, and yeast and is likely to purify RNA polymerase II frommost eukaryotic organisms. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
