Description
Angiostatin is a 38 kDa internal proteolytic fragment of plasminogen, containing at leastthree Kringle domains. The Kringle domains have specific anti-migratory andanti-proliferative activities. Angiostatin, an endogenous angiogenesis inhibitor, inhibitsendothelial cell proliferation in vitro and angiogenesis in vivo. It is a potent and specificnatural inhibitor of angiogenisis and metastatic tumor growth.
Specificity
This antibody binds recombinant human angiostatin and human plasminogen, specificallykringle 1-3 and kringle 1-4 in solid-phase and solution-phase ELISA. It does not bindisolated plasminogen kringle fragment 4 or isolated plasminogen kringle fragment 5. This antibody binds human plasminogen and recombinant angiostatin in immunoblottingprocedures.
