| Description | The protein encoded by this gene associates with stem loop IV of U2 small nuclearribonucleoprotein (U2 snRNP) in the presence of snRNP-A'. The encoded protein may play arole in pre-mRNA splicing. Autoantibodies from patients with systemic lupuserythematosus frequently recognize epitopes on the encoded protein. Two transcriptvariants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene. Transcript Variant: Thisvariant differs in the 5' UTR compared to variant 1. Variants 1 and 2 encode the sameprotein. Publication Note: This RefSeq record includes a subset of the publications that areavailable for this gene. Please see the Entrez Gene record to access additionalpublications. |
| Specificity | The mab reacts primarily with the U2B'' protein from a variety of species ranging fromhuman to plant. The monoclonal antibody does not react detectably with the veryhomologous U1A protein. |
Application Details
| Application Notes | Immunofluorescence Microscopy: 1/5-1/10. Recommended Positive Control: HEp-2 cells. Immunoprecipitation. Immunoblotting: 1/5-1/10. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user. |
