Additional Information

Characteristics Synonyms: U2 snRNP B'', SNRPB2, U2 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein B
Swiss-Prot P08579
Immunogen Recombinant beta-galactosidase U2B'' fusion protein.
Format Supernatant
Isotype IgG2a  (Matching secondary antibodies)
Clone 4G3
Description The protein encoded by this gene associates with stem loop IV of U2 small nuclearribonucleoprotein (U2 snRNP) in the presence of snRNP-A'. The encoded protein may play arole in pre-mRNA splicing. Autoantibodies from patients with systemic lupuserythematosus frequently recognize epitopes on the encoded protein. Two transcriptvariants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene. Transcript Variant: Thisvariant differs in the 5' UTR compared to variant 1. Variants 1 and 2 encode the sameprotein. Publication Note: This RefSeq record includes a subset of the publications that areavailable for this gene. Please see the Entrez Gene record to access additionalpublications.
Specificity The mab reacts primarily with the U2B'' protein from a variety of species ranging fromhuman to plant. The monoclonal antibody does not react detectably with the veryhomologous U1A protein.
