Alternative name Cadherin-6
Swiss-Prot P55285
Immunogen GST fusion protein of part of the extracellular domain of cadherin 6 (K-Cadherin).
Format Supernatant
Isotype IgG1  (Matching secondary antibodies)
Clone 2B6
Description The cadherin gene family encodes calcium-dependent adhesion molecules that promotehomophilic interactions among cells. All cadherins are single-pass transmembraneproteins with a variable number of extracellular domains (EC, 110 amino acids long). Classical cadherins consist of five EC domains and a conserved cytoplasmic domain andare divided in type I and type II subgroups. Type I comprises cadherin E, N, P, and R. Type IIinclude cadherin-5, -6, -8, -11, and -12. During embryogenesis differential expression ofcadherins can drive morphogenesis by stimulating cell aggregation, defining boundariesbetween groups of cells and promoting cell migration. Cadherin-6 seems to be required forthe early aggregation of induced mesenchymal cells and their subsequent conversion toepithelium.
Specificity This antibody reacts to Cadherin 6. Species: Human. Others not tested.

Application Details

Application Notes Immunohistochemistry on frozen sections: paraformaldehyde fixed, with 0.2% Triton X-100in PBS, Ready to use, 1 h at room temperature / overnight at 2-8C. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
Storage Store the antibody undiluted at 2-8°C for one month or (in aliquots) at -20°C for longer. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Shelf life: one year from despatch.
Research Area Extracellular Matrix, Signaling, Cytoskeleton
Restrictions For Research Use only
