Immunogen Epidermal carcinoma cell line A431
Clone C-11
Isotype IgG1
Specificity This antibody recognises Cytokeratins 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 13 and 18. The antibody reacts specifically with a wide range of normal, reactive and neoplastic epithelial tissues.
Cross-Reactivity (Details) Species reactivity (tested):Human, Rat, Amphibia and Bovine
Purification Ion Exchange Chromatography followed by Gel Filtration
Alternative Name Cytokeratin (KRT1 Antibody Abstract)
Background Cytokeratins are a subfamily of intermediate filaments and characterized by remarkable biochemical diversity. Cytokeratins are represented in epithelial tissues by at least 20 different polypeptides, molecular weight between 40 kDa and 68 kDa. The individual cytokeratin polypeptides are designated 1 to 20 and divided into the type I (acidic cytokeratins 9-20) and type II (basic to neutral cytokeratins 1-8) families.Synonyms: Cytokeratin pan-reactive, pan Keratin
Research Area Signaling, Cytoskeleton, Cytokeratins, Extracellular Matrix
Application Notes Immunofluorescence. Immunohistochemistry on frozen and paraffin sections (paraffin sections require proteindigestion pre-treatment e. g. trypsin or pronase). Flow cytometry (use 10 μL of neat antibody to label 1x 10^6 cells in 100 μL). Western blot.
Other applications not tested.
Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
Restrictions For Research Use only
Buffer PBS, 0.09 % Sodium azide, 1 % BSA
Preservative Sodium azide
Precaution of Use This product contains sodium azide: a POISONOUS AND HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCE which should be handled by trained staff only.
Handling Advice Avoid repeated freezing and thawing. This product is photosensitive and should protected from light.
Storage 4 °C/-20 °C
Storage Comment Store the antibody undiluted at 2-8 °C for one month or (in aliquots) at -20 °C for longer.
