Description
Laminins are trimeric basement glycoproteins consisting of three nonidenticalmultidomain chains (alpha, beta and gamma) each encoded by a distinct gene. Thealpha-2 chain is a subunit of Laminin-2 and Laminin-4, which are widely expressed in thebasement membrane of skeletal muscle and peripheral nerves. Laminins are thought tomediate cell attachment, migration, proliferation and differentiation with otherextracellular matrix components.

Specificity
This antibody reacts with the 80 kD fragment of the M-chain of Human Laminin alpha-2,originally known as Merosin. Species Reactivity: Tested: Human. Reacts with Monkey and Rabbit.

Application Notes
ELISA: 1/25000-1/100000. Immunoprecipitation. Western Blot. Immunohistochemistry on Frozen Sections: 1/2000-1/10000 (Acetone is recommended).8µm fixed cryostat muscle sections have been used, with an HRP conjugated secondaryantibody for detection. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
