Description
The display of repertoires of antibody fragments on the surface of filamentous phage offersa new way to produce immunoreagents with defined specificities. Phage derived antibodyfragments offer a number of advantages over mouse monoclonal antibodies, such asbetter clearance from the blood, the possibility to select from human combinatoriallibraries and the relative ease by which such fragments can be manipulated. The phagedisplay technique thus facilitates the selection of antibody fragments of therapeutic valueor research interest. Antibodies to M13 filamentous phage coat proteins are instrumental inthe selection and detection of phages expressing specific antibody fragments or peptidesequences at their surface.
Specificity
RL-ph3 reacts with a M13 filamentous phage coat protein with a molecular weight ofapproximately 5 kDa.
Application Notes
RL-ph3 is paticularly useful for detection of M13 phages in multistep Immunoblottingprocedures (1/40-1/400). Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
