Additional Information

Characteristics Synonyms: Gene 8 protein, Coat protein B, Major coat protein
Swiss-Prot P69541
Immunogen Isolated M13 phage coat proteins. Remarks: RL-ph3 is a mouse monoclonal IgM, k antibody derived by fusion of SP2/0-Ag14mouse myeloma cells with spleen cells from a BALB/c mouse immunized with isolated M13phage coat proteins.
Isotype IgM  (Matching secondary antibodies)
Clone RL-ph3
Description The display of repertoires of antibody fragments on the surface of filamentous phage offersa new way to produce immunoreagents with defined specificities. Phage derived antibodyfragments offer a number of advantages over mouse monoclonal antibodies, such asbetter clearance from the blood, the possibility to select from human combinatoriallibraries and the relative ease by which such fragments can be manipulated. The phagedisplay technique thus facilitates the selection of antibody fragments of therapeutic valueor research interest. Antibodies to M13 filamentous phage coat proteins are instrumental inthe selection and detection of phages expressing specific antibody fragments or peptidesequences at their surface.
Specificity RL-ph3 reacts with a M13 filamentous phage coat protein with a molecular weight ofapproximately 5 kDa.

Application Details

Application Notes RL-ph3 is paticularly useful for detection of M13 phages in multistep Immunoblottingprocedures (1/40-1/400). Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
Concentration 1.0 mg/ml
Buffer PBS with 0.09% Sodium Azide as preservative.
Storage Store the antibody (undiluted) at 2-8°C for one month or (in aliquots) at -20°C for longer. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Shelf life: One year from despatch.
Restrictions For Research Use only
