Description: Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) is a steroid hormone produced from cholesterol andsecreted by several organs including the adrenal glands. It is the precursor of male andfemale sex hormones (androgens and estrogens). DHEAS is the sulphated version of DHEA. This conversion is reversibly catalysed by sulphotransferase primarily in the adrenals, theliver, and small intestines. In the blood, most DHEA is found as DHEAS with levels that areabout 300 times higher than free DHEA.

Specificity: This antibody recognizes Dehydroepiandrosterone sulphate (DHEAS) and exhibits thefollowing cross reactivies with related hormones and derivatives: DHEA 69 %,5-alpha-Androstendione 5. 3 %,5 Androstendione 3. 6 %,4 Androstendione 2. 3 %,Androstendione 3. 0 %,Testosterone < 0. 3 %,Androstendiol < 0. 4 %.
