Description
Bombesin is an amphibian peptide and the mammalian counterpart is referred to asGastrin Releasing Peptide (GRP). Bombesin/GRP is widely distributed in the brain, inperipheral nerves (particularly numerous in the gut) and in endocrine cells of somesub-mammalian species, e. g. in the oxyntic mucosa of birds. The peptide stimulatessecretion from endocrine and exocrine cells and intestinal smooth muscle activity. Bombesin/GRP occurs frequently in the bronchial carcinoids. Absorption with 10-100 µgbombesin and GRP per ml diluted antiserum abolishes the staining.

Application Notes
Immunohistochemistry on frozen and paraffin sections: 1: 2000 - 1: 3000, overnightincubation at 2-8C. Immunofluorescence microscopy: 1: 400 - 1: 800, overnight incubation at 2-8C. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
