Immunogen Prokaryotic recombinant protein corresponding to a 1086 bp of Ki-67 motif containing cDNA fragment.
Clone MM1
Isotype IgG1
Specificity This antibody is specific to Ki-67 nuclear antigen expressed on all proliferating cells during late G1, S, M and G2 phase of the cell cycle. Ki-67 antibody is useful in establishing the growth fraction of neoplasms by identifying Ki-67 positive cells. Among low grade lymphomas, a Ki-67 value greater than 20-25 % has been shown to identify patients with a more aggressive course and among intermediate to high grade lymphomas, poorer survival has been shown with Ki-67 index exceeding 60 %.
Cellular Localization:Nuclear
Purification Supernatant
Alternative Name Ki-67
Background Ki-67 is a nuclear protein that is expressed in proliferating cells and may be required for maintaining cell proliferation. Ki-67 has been used as a marker for cell proliferation of solid tumors and some hematological malignancies. A correlation has been demonstrated between Ki-67 index and the histopathological grade of neoplasms. Assessment of Ki-67 expression in renal and ureter tumors shows a correlation between tumor proliferation and disease progression, thus making it possible to differentiate high-risk patients. Ki-67 expression may also prove to be important for distinguishing between malignant and benign peripheral nerve sheath tumors.Synonyms: Ki67 antigen, MKI67, Proliferation marker
Gene ID 4288
NCBI Accession NP_001139438
UniProt P46013
Research Area Proliferation Markers, Cell Cycle
Application Notes Immunohistochemistry on Formalin-Fixid Paraffin Embedded Sections: Use at 1/25-1/75 inan ABC method for 30 minutes at RT. Paraffin-embedded tissue sections require high temperature antigen unmasking using 10 mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0. Recommended Positive Control: Tonsil.
Other applications not tested.
Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
