Immunogen Synthetic peptide corresponding to human cyclin E protein.
Clone HE12
Isotype IgG1
Specificity This antibody recognizes a doublet of 50 kDa and a single band of 42 kDa identified as Cyclin E.
Cellular Localization: Nuclear
Purification Supernatant
Alternative Name Cyclin E1
Background Cyclin proteins are a family of related proteins, which control the progression of the eukaryotic cell cycle. Overexpression of cyclin E shortens the length of the G1 phase, accelerating progression of S phase. The activity of cyclin E is mediated through its activation of cyclin dependent kinase 2 (cdk2) protein and is modulated by the presence of tumor suppressor proteins such as p16. During tumor cell and normal cell proliferation, cyclins activate the cyclin-dependent protein kinases, which in turn controls progression through the G1 phase of the cell cycle.Synonyms: CCNE, CCNE1, Cyclin-E1
Gene ID 898
NCBI Accession NP_001229
UniProt P24864
Research Area Cell Cycle
Application Notes Immunohistochemistry on Paraffin Embedded Sections: Use a dilution of 1/25-1/50 in anABC method (30 minutes at room temperature). Formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue sections require high temperature antigenunmasking with 10 mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 prior to immunostaining. Recommended Positive Control: Breast carcinoma.
Other applications not tested.
Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
Restrictions For Research Use only
Format Liquid
Handling Advice Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Storage 4 °C/-20 °C
Storage Comment Store the antibody undiluted at 2-8 °C for one month or (in aliquots) at -20 °C for longer.
